If you were a parent, you would understand! If you aren't a parent, there would be no words to tell you what the love for your, own, child is like. There is nothing else like it! We gladly make fools of ourselves to get a laugh from an infant. We would fight Goliath to protect our young ones! We would do anything to feed and clothe our children! But, most of all, we love them so deeply, that there can be no flaws through our eyes! If someone wants to make an enemy of a parent, criticize their children! It will work every time. There is nothing more perfect than our children and nobody better tell us differently.
By the way, after the crayons have been eaten, and the items have been removed from the nose, we laugh about it. Then we compare notes with other parents. After all, surely, our child said or did something, that was cuter, or showed more intelligence, than their child when those things happened to them. See, one more example of the cleverness of our children---through a parents eyes!

First of all, genius merely refers to the exceptional capacity to learn and analyze things. Potential is not always realized! LOL!

Remember, kids start out basically knowing nothing. Their parents and surroundings are their first teachers. As they get older, they learn from everyone and everything they come into contact with, as well as from their own actions and experiences.

Kids are not born knowing lima beans can get stuck up their nose. That's something some need to learn by either witnessing it or experiencing it.

Curiosity is normal for kids and how they learn, thus they are perpetually testing things to learn about them. That's why babies mouth everything, it's one of the first ways they learn.

So yeah, kids do some funky stuff, but it is part of how they learn and not necessarily a reflection on their intelligence, or lack thereof.

Parents often think their kids are geniuses and beautiful because they are ours. If your own mama doesn't think you're amazing, who will??

Just know, not all parents think their kids are amazing and some are brutal. How often have you heard a kid called a "dumbass" by his parents? It happens, and it does a ton of damage to their self-esteem.

I don't know any parents that think their kids are geniuses. Besides that, being a genius has nothing to do with falling down or eating crayons...most small children do that.

They spew all over you and the new furniture, they pratice using scissors on your new clothes and always put mucky hand prints over everything.... I could go on for hours....
But strangely enough...there's the funny thing, called a bond of love. Which forgets all the bad stuff and only ever remembers the best stuff, like the first word, the first step ....No matter how old you get, you will always be you mothers little boy/girl.

You obviously don't have kids - however when you do - you realize how amazing life is and how much it takes for them to learn things and how they do - I think it is more just being amazed at what they created and thrilled that the are healthy and developing. My kids aren't geniuses - but I do talk about all they can do to friends because it amazes me.

To encourage the kids. By the way Genius is not omnipotence (can do everything), all genius have their weaknesses, so do the kids, but each kid has a spec of genius in her; and it is duty of the parents to bring out the genius of the kid.

Well, I can tell you right now out of my 5, I don't have have one genius. Though, I do occasionally tell them they are when they do something ridiculous. I have one that is smart, smarter than average, but he is no genius either. In fact he can at age 9 tell you all about anything science, but can't open a pop can...

because one day their kids will be very smart and they love them too much to tell them they are dumb.. because that'd be mean and wouldn't help the growth of their kids. also, let's give the kids a break... they're like 3

Because they have an agenda, they see their children as an extension of themselves, when they really do belong to themselves. This are natural stages of discoveries you mention though.
