His name is Linus Torvalds-
he is the writer of the Linux op system, based on unix. I did a paper about him; it seems that he wanted to name his system something like "freax", but the guy who first uploaded it to share (via download) changed the name to linux.

It's Linus. The operating system that he created and helps maintain is called Linux.
The penguin mascot is called Tux.
More trivia? Linux is a wordplay on Unix. Unix is oficially an acronym for UNiplexed Information and Computing System.
The name Unix, in turn, is a stab at it's own predecessor: Multics (MULTiplexed Information and Computing system)
