I am wondering if anyone knows a place where a drug addict (ICE) can be forcibly taken away for treatment, psychiatric help, evaluation....so far all I know is he can be arrested and assesed but then let out in an hour/day....I am talking about a drug addict, now off the stuff for a few days, mood swings, manic depressive, violent, lying, basiclly coming down from ICE and in need of help, in the form of being physically taken away and assesed.

Drug Rehabilitation programs where I live a person can go if they have money or health insurance. If you have neither, then you can wish that person luck. There is no such thing as emergency intervention programs here where I live. But if you are an alcoholic, you have a much better chance of getting help.

Hang him off the side of a boat while drifting about the Great Barrier Reef with some prime sirlions duct taped to his legs and arms...and discuss his "options" with him.
