Actually we have 3 in 1. It's called the Holy Trinity, although this term cannot be found in the Bible, Christians have coined the term to refer to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. I God still but 3 different entitties.

That is why the first commandment given in Exodus 20 was for us to have one God and no other. But think about, Satan tries to manipulate and do away with all of God's commandments and confusing people about many God's is in direct contradiction to God's first commandment. People having many God's doesn't make it right no matter how far back in history it began. Satan was from the beginning trying to deceive man all through history to this day.

Because there is only one God. I refuse to worship a bunch of so called 'gods' that are as stupid as I am. They all fight, kill each other (translation, are mortal) and commit all the same wrongs that we do. Why worship something like that??! They fight amungst each other so much, the world would never have been created or survived if there really were multiple gods. Why is it so hard to believe that one being can be God? Why do our limited human minds insist on making more than one? There is only one supreme being, one creator, one God.

That's like asking, how come people who believe Christ is the only path that leads to the Father only follow one path. God is a jealous God and the first commandment forbades anyone to worship anyone but HIM. We strive to be single minded, not double minded. The book of James says that A DOUBLE MINDED MAN is UNSTABLE in ALL his ways.

That's what makes us Christian. It is our belief that there is only one true God who controls and loves and cares for everything. We believe he gave us free will. We believe we were put here in his likeness to love one another and his world. Those other guys feel that everything must be controlled by something different. They had a God for every season, harvest, act, or sin. Where is the loyalty in that?

in the 10 commandments, it states:
thou shalt have NO other god's b/4 me, nor worship any graven/idol image.
those are man made idols/images from the greeks, egyptians & indians.
those are idols that were man made.
but, if u read the holy bible, there's only 1 god . 1 true god.

Well, there is only one God, but of course, being the Supreme Being He is, He's got tons of personality, and the ancient religions worshipped the different aspects of Him.
