More likely they are ingrown hairs. The end of the hair curls around and enters into the scalp and coils up. This produces a sore simular to a pimple. You need to have someone find the hair and pull it out of the sore. Then it will heal in 3 or 4 days.

If you use conditioner, it could be because of that. If you let conditioner ever sit in your hair, it blocks up the pores in your head, and then if could cause dirt build up. That also causes forehead pimples, or those pimples on your hair line that usually hurt. =(

Overactive sebaceous (oil) glands. A good dandruff or chelating shampoo will correct the problem. Shampoo morning & evening if you notice your bed pillow has lots of oil on it. It may slow down some in the winter months. Activity stimulates the glands.

do you have oily hair? try not to wash your hair too often or touch it a lot. or use a really gentle shampoo so the pores won't open up so much. and after taking a hot shower, it's a good idea to rinse your hair with cold water to close up the pores again. oh and be thankful that they're where nobody can see them!!
