The main key is understanding. The fear of the unknown is the one that most captivates man.If people of different religions make an effort to understand the beliefs of others they will realize it is all about peace and thus this fear will be conquered.
Yes,the world will be a better place when people understand that muslims believe in Jesus as a prophet and realize that the whole nonsense about muslims looking down on followers of other beliefs as 'infidels' is a huge LIE created by those who want to spread hatred. And that Islam doesn't call for killing those who refuse to convert as it is clearly stated that there shall be no enforcements in beliefs..The qu'ran says"...anyone who kills any person who had not committed murder or horrendous crimes, it shall be as if he killed all the people. And anyone who spares a life, it shall be as if he spared the lives of all the people..."
Yes..the world will be a better place when people realize that God-fearing Christians and Jews are just, fair ,amazing and peace-loving.Yes, the world shall be a better place when we all move on from reading this answer to learning more about other religions from reliable sources and not just engulf stereotypes.
And Finally..YES, the world shall be a better place when all of us realize that no body has the right to judge who's religion/belief is superior. God says in the Qur'an " And you have been created in various nations and tribes so as you can learn about each other"

I think everyone should be taught tolerance from an early age. I blame churches, themselves...I think places of worship should teach tolerance. I agree with you...they are ALL beautiful religions, and even though I fully admit I am a Christian, I have NOTHING but upmost respect for Jews, Muslims, etc. I have friends of many religions and quite honestly, when push comes to shove, I believe we ALL believe in the same God...we just have different interpretations, etc.
I have always said, I was born into a Christian family, therefore; I'm a christian. But, If I had been born into a Jewish family, I'd be a Jew...and same with muslim. Of course you can change religions along the way, but let's face it, most don't.
OK...went off subject a bit. It would be a perfect world if everyone were tolerant of each other, especially where religion is concerned. But, unfortunately, I don't see that ever happening. At least I'm at peace with how I feel towards others. :) good question..thanks for asking!

I have utmost respect for Jews and moderate Muslims. Unfortunately, when fanatical muslims go around committing mass murder in the name of Allah, well, it gives all of Islam the same reputation christians got during the crusades. The crusades were very long ago and we learned, the fanatical muslims did not. Also, Allah is not God, Jews and Christians worship the same God, but its not Allah. God does not promise sex in heaven in exchange for mass murder. So basically, the only way I see this world getting along is to stop murdering each other. Get the fanatical muslims out of Africa, quit murdering those that won't convert to Islam, and everything would be hunky-dorey. See, its the "murder anyone who won't convert" part that is causing a lot of the problems. And of course, the "kill all infidels" isn't helping much either, especially on a grand scale like the twin towers. So if the moderate, rational muslims would get the fanatical muslims to stop killing innocent people, and get them out of Africa, things would go much better. Only Islam can stop it, and from what I've seen, they haven't even tried. That would probably go a long way toward helping out in the Israel/Palestine situation too.

There needs to be more cross-cultural exchange, and I don't mean just having exchange students go live in the other cultures. There has to be more exchange between adults.
I read about a program where Palestinian & Israeli kids were put in a school together. They were aprehensive at first, but then they got along great, and then many became good friends. The problem, however, is that the adults who have the power to change the situation do not communicate on a personal level the way those kids did.

To Biomimetik, did you know the reason the Jews consistently win over the Palestinians is because they are God's chosen people and this is their land?
Whether you like it or not, that is how it is.
And because you cannot see past the end of your nose, you will never see it, and therefore never be able to respect any other religion other than your own. A pity, really.
No, don't bother emailing me your hate, I can feel it from here and am unaffected by it.

By realizing that we are worshipping the same GOD, the God of Abraham. After Abraham, things got divided with Gods people. Personally, I am a Christ follower. If people reject Him I don't take it personally. All God's Children need to realze that we are essentially the same and He loves us all. We were only created and put into this earthly realm to praise Him and to love one another. We've gotten it so wrong. It must grieve His heart terribly.

I am a Christian, and I do not try to figure out othere religions. Honestly! I think, that just on ANSWERS, people have questions----
Hate is not an emotion. It is a choice you make to dislike one thing more than the other.

True Christianity does respect everyone. I don't know how other "religions" are due to I am a Christian. We believe in having peace and loving even those who would want to be our enemies.

i agree with you - i think there is tension,
i am currently in Mid-East, met a lot of Muslems, they are very good family orientated persons - good friends too !
i think the only way we can do this is by realy show respect towards others- believer or non-believer - just do the right thing, which is to respect others. after all- we were ALL created by God
