How far into a relationship do you need to be before you say "I love you" and not have it sound like too much too soon? And can the girl say it first in a male/female relationship?

Wait until he says it first for god's sake! That's unless you love the smell of burnt rubber as he dumps you on the hard shoulder and drives for the hills.
Sad fact but the 'L' word scares the **** out of most men even when they say it. If he does say it best to act like you hadn't really thought about it but on reflection yeah you think you love him too.
If anyone wants to disagree?

um, you could have been in the relationship for about a year so as to acquaint yourself with every aspect of the persons life. you cant just rush into saying it because the personality involved is appealing and nice. the person might be nice but hey! he/she might not have any love for you. thatcase when tou rush into expressing your love, then yo become somewhat foolish to the person.
a lady can likewise express her love first because, sometimes delayance will cost you. when you love the person, go on and tell him LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As soon as you feel it, decide how long you want to wait before saying it. Personally, I would wait the best part of a second or two.
Just don't say it if you know you don't feel it.

There is no timeframe! My fiancee told me he loved me after 3 days and 5 & 1/2 years later we are still very much in love with each other. If thats how you feel then tell him. xxx

When you no thats how you feel aslong as its not the fird\st say three months cos you cant no somebody by then, but everybody is differant so do it and find out, good luck.

You should only say it when you feel it. There's no timeframe. My grandparents met, a month later they were married, and would still be together today, had my grandfather not passed.

it really doesn't matter who says it first either one of you can say it when you think the time is right and you feel the other person feels the same.
