By finding fault in Christians it makes the fault in non believers easier for them. Also some Christians, not all Christians, but some like to act like they are perfect and better than others.

Not all Christian's are this way, but there are some that make a lot of noise about being a Christian and acts with an attitude of "I am Christian hear me roar" and looks down their noses at others. So when that person does mess up (as we all do) a bigger deal is made of it because they had been acting like they were so perfect. For me, those are the ones that are highlighted. Other than that, other Christian's should understand that we're not all perfect. If we as Christian's are going to condemn them for erring, then we have just sinned ourselves, haven't we?

Personally, I don't believe any human being is perfect. But too many so-called christians try to convince me they ARE perfect because of their beliefs and I am destined to go to hell for not having the same beliefs. Sorry, I'm not expecting them to be perfect, just polite and respectful.

I am a christian and I am no where near perfect. I think people hold us to a higher standard because of our beliefs about sin. However all christians(saved, born again, however you phrase it) are tempted and some, if not all, of us have given in to temptation even after our conversions (I know I have). I believe that when people bring our shortcomings to our attention it is for one of two reasons. It is either that God is trying to get our attention to let us know we are doing something wrong or that He is trying to get us to share our testimony. Pay attention when those moments come along and pray for God's direction.

I think people expect Christians to be perfect because some Christians have a "holier than thou" attitude. this puts a "bad taste" in peoples mouths. As a Christian, I strive to be perfect, but I know I can't be but I am forgiven. People like to see others trip up. It makes them feel better to see someone worse off so they feel better off. I used to try to put my moral thinking on others. But I have found it is better to "walk the walk" than to only "talk the talk".

I have a bad habit of stereotyping Christians as: "brainwashed" and "pretensious".
I think it stems from my adolescent years when i spent most of them Crying myself to sleep b/c i could never understand the Bible, or "hear" God talk to me.
I'd try and try, but the understanding would always be clouded wtih questions. Finally, I accepted the fact that i would never know.
and I've lived a happier life since i stopped going to church.
I know that Christians aren't perfect...
but I would never want to hang out with them b/c I'd be afraid to go to battle with them about religion. not afraid that i would lose the battle, but afraid our friendship would be doomed - so why bother, ya know?

I think that we as Christians are supposed to be examples, and we fail our God miserably sometimes. But as far as being perfect, yes, people are going to look to us and say "see, I'm not so bad, because a Christian did that"

Because of your formed opinion that other religions have no role to play and others are imperfect. OK, then you be perfect- attitude of others. Go and look in a mirror.

I know that no one is perfect. I also know that it is not wise to pass judgment on others who believe differently than I believe. Everyone needs to find their own path to God. We are all individuals.
