I work for a wedding photography company. Most photography companies will recreate the scene and take new photos at no charge to you. The company I work for will re-rent a tuxedo, we've paid for dry cleaning of wedding dresses, flown the couple back to the destination, and paid for limos. If the photography company refuses to refund your money, give you complimentary prints, or recreate the scene, then, I would contact a lawyer and sue. You need to check the contract you signed though. There may be fine print that states they are not responsible for lost or damaged pictures.

NO, you can not sue for more money. Unless the photographer planned to ruin your pictures... sometimes their are things we just can't help. I doubt if he, himself lost the pics- they could have been processed wrong or over exposed or the film could have even been bad. 1st- I would find out exactly what happened- be nice a polite and try to get the whole story.
Then I would contact the better Business Bureau if he lost them or contact the correct party if he processed the film some where else. This won't get your money back but it will stop other people from using him.

Probably. Contact a lawyer to find out though. I would sue for your money back PLUS the cost to re-enact as much of the wedding as possible. To at least get some of the pictures redone. (Money to have your hair and make up re-done, to re-rent the tuxes, to fly out the wedding party again...) and those replacement pictures should be free or cheap as well.

And of course, you need to tell everyone you know the name of the photographer and let them know what they did to your wedding pics. You don't want another couple losing their pictures too do ya???

I am a photographer and that is my worst nightmare. Check your contract, the one I have states that if anything is my fault( Losing the pictures) than I am responsible for giving your money back. But I have to wonder, what kind of photographer did you get to loose your pictures, that's pretty hard to do.

This photographer sounds unprofessional and should pay for the lack of it. Contact a lawyer and see. Best of luck to you.

You can try to come to a mutual agreement with her about the money you want back and if you both can't come to a mutual understanding then I would go small claims court. Sad and nothing will bring that moment back or the pictures. Did any of your friends take pix at or before the wedding? You might ask all of them to send you copies of what they took.. Congrats and wish you the best of life.

Not 100% sure because the pictures were not damaged, they were lost. Go over the details of your contract with a fine tooth comb. Check with the photographer to see if he/she has the negatives.
