I've never met my dad and I'm 17 now...I once talked to him on the phone but I was so little that I still thought he'd come back...The last we heard was that he was in Guam or somewhere...(My parents are not divorced). I still hope I'll see him someday just to have some memories because it's hard this way. All the sites I've visited require money...Are there any which don't ? What would you do if you were me?

Before you tell me:he's my dad and I don't want to pay anything to find him, just to tell you that I can't afford it!

is your father in the military? are you sure your mother does not know where he is? is she protecting you( she may think she has too)

if he is in the military, you should be able to contact the local branch ie:army,navy,airforce-marines etc. and ask them to help you-i would think that you could also contact the american embassy for guam, and they may be able to contact him for you-
all else fails? call maury povich-he seems to have a huge sucsess rate-

Is your mom willing to help? You could try the American Embassy in Guam. Locate them on the web and start emailing.

It can be costly to track down a family member, I had a friend who was looking for a person and came to the same road block, he ended up doing a GOOGLE search for the guy and found him on myspace! Amazing considering how popular the internet is that they haven't came up with free internet investigations. But investigations do take time and people to help try to find other people. Try a google search for him.

Ask the US embassy in Zagreb! If your father is Croatian citizen, he probably needs a visa for Guam, which he has presumably asked for in Zagreb.

Depends on how desperate you are...You could go on one of these talk shows and not pay a dime and get a free trip.
I myself do not have a relationship with my dad. I've tried it's been unsuccessful and I personally do just fine without him. If you feel he will enrich your life then go for it...However be forewarned that he may not be emotionally available...There are reasons why he hasn't been in your life. You are going to have to accept his faults. Our parents as much as we'd like to think of them as being perfect are flawed individuals just like everyone else.
