My hair is really thick, curly and frizzy. My dad bought me a straightening iron for my birthday.. it SAYS it goes up to 180-190 degree's heat, but it hardly heats up.. And takes 2-3 hours to straighten my hair, and once im finished, it isnt even straightened properly. Is there any good straightening irons that will straighten my hair fast, and more importantly, straighten it to perfection?

The really good ones are pretty expensive. My hair is pretty hard to straighten as well, I use Super Star. Metropolis, VS sassoon is also good. Of course the best and probably the most expensive is Chi - but its worth the money for someone who has a hard time getting the hair exactly how they want them to look. You can also try straightening hair care products to help.

180-190 degrees??? That's cool, in flat iron standards. A good one will go up to 400-450 degrees. Chi is the best that money can buy. Cost is about $150.00. If you don't want to spend that much, go to Sally Beauty Supply. They have many good ones there--my personal favorites are Ion and Titanium. It's always best to stick to a one inch plate, also. The wider the plate, the more awkward and clunky they are to use (plus, if you know how to work the one inch ones you can do everything from straighten to flippy ends to all out spiral curls--it's all in how you hold it). Good luck!

a hair straightener should not reach over 200 degrees centergrade
if it does it will burn and ruin ur hair
u need a ceramic coated straightener there are plenty of brands out there but u will need to spend a fair bit of money on one for it to work properly
ghd, lightening bolt, and babyliss pro are very good brands.
but they will come at a cost

Definitely a CHI. I have extremely impossible hair and i could NEVER get it straight before then my hair dresser told me about the CHI, and I've been using it ever since. They are expensive but in my opinion it's more like a investment, if you use it a lot. I know that I would die without mine.

i have a very nice rememington...i am 1/2 black...so yes big, frizzy kinky knoted hair....but now bone STRAIGHT....use with a light mist of olive oil sheen...money....
it cost me $40.00 and goes to 400degree'z...it is the wet to dry one...but i never use it on wet hair...that the worst time...hair is so fragile at that time.....i have hair to my butt and it takes about 40 min....caution: hair is very hot after passing it through...i promise it works.....hair is so silky and soft....it lays to straight sometimes.....you will have no frizz what so ever....wont live with out it....
