i would say about 16% of the men and 23% of the women.

OK... lets make a guess.
Firstly how much time does a person spend on the toilet? The internet is inconclusive... but one site suggested about 12 minutes a day is spent ...eliminating waste. So 0.83% of your day is spent on the loo, and similarly at any time 0.83% of the population are on the porcelain throne.
Assuming 6 billion people in the world, that's 50 million people! - unless they are going in the woods.
