in uttranchal, their in rishikesh there are agencies dealing in river rafting just 30 kms outside hardiwar, you can go for sking in Auli around 100kms from haridwar and stay at warm cottages there and then you can go on hiking on any of the small slopesor mountaiin areas, you can also try religious trek in kedarnath, badrinath, tungnath gangotri jamunotri and other ares in that region, you can also enjoy forest trekking in Chopta and the best part is that you get allthe safety standars that you expect and almost all th emodern amenities required including food and lodging
