Slap them? I guess you want to appear in court with that bad "do", eh? If you are displeased with your haircut, tell the manager of the salon.....she/he will usually not charge you. A tip is a gratuity, so if you are not pleased...do not tip A good stylist listens to their client.....and makes sure they are on the "same page" when cutting or styling a customer's hair. The use of a picture from a magazine or from one of the salon's books can help you decide and guide the stylist. But you should not have to pay if you are unhappy or they should make some sort of "deep" discount for the service....There are so many salons that if one gets a "bad rep"...it usually means a "out of business" sign will appear in their window......owners want to avoid that, so they will usually appease you with not charging you or the owner themselves will "repair" (or try) the damage.....at no cost to you.

Slapping them will costs you more than the cut itself ,plus land you in jail .Making a fuss , shows how immature you are and chances are you won't be able to get another hair cut in your area . (word of mouth ) Not paying them again , go to jail . Just explain to them that you aren't happy with your cut , 9 times out of 10 they will , either fix it to make you happy or , give you credit for a free cut . Most beautician work commission and don't want to lose you as a client . Sometimes your idea of what you want and her idea of what you describe get mixed up in translation .just let them know , if they are an upstanding salon they will make it right and you will be happy . good luck

Tell them that they havn't done what you asked and you don't think it's a very good service. Suggest they comunicate more about what they are about to do, and how it should look and if thats what you want. I would say let them off the first time and pay but make sure they know you won't have them doing it again.

I had one at Toni and Guy at Canary Wharf, the whole experience was a nightmare, I was totally ignored, no consultation, the hairdresser talked non-stop to her colleague and I looked like a toilet brush. I refused to pay and had to spend the whole afternoon enduring ridicule from the office. She even cut my side bits straight across level with the top of my ears, terrible!!!

Tell them before you leave the chair (they may either try to fix or give you a free haircut the next time). In any case, do pay them.

you must have pissed someone off. and let me tell you something from the professionals' side, if you did something or said something to piss someone off in the salon, everyone in the salon knows about it and will stand behind the stylist so you really have no recourse.
if the stylist didn't know how to do the cut (like a barber cut - we AREN'T BARBERS) then you should get a free cut from another stylist. - or cutS until it grows out to the length it was when you came into the salon.
my suggestion would be to go to someone you know knows how to do the cut/style. don't go to a stylist for one of those 'caesar' type styles - go to a barber. you will be happier with the price and time and style.

tell them that you are upset with the haircut and that you want them to fix it. yes I would make a fuss about it, it is your hair and that you don't like it.
