Ok i need to know a good why to ask a girl out. This girl is cool i have known her for like 3years now we dont get to see each other as much i was away for a year and im just back. i saw her last nite and she gave me a hug and was like you look great i have never seen her look at me that why before how do i act cool and yet let her know i think she is amazing? our relationship has changed now because we dont see each other as much what do i do? oh yeah i was i big guy i lost like 60lbs since i last saw her !!

This might sound childish but feel her out through mutual friends. Have one of your friends play you up and see how she reacts. Then have that friend ask if she is attracted to you in a non-friendly way. Last but not least study up on what type of guy she has fallen for and see if you fit the description in any way (physical, mental, likes/dislikes, etc). That will give you the knowledge needed to make the decision of crossing the line of friendship. Then play hard to get yet still give her attention and then she will make the first move anyway.

Since you are just back i would arrange a night out with the two of you, don't call it a date but just say you want to catch up on her life since you have been away.
This way you can both chat in a relaxed atmosphere without the nervousness of being on a date.Slip into the conversation that you are looking for a girlfriend and enquire as to how her love life is going.
By the end of the night you will have found out all the details you need to know and will have re-lighted your relationship. Then, if the time is right, walk her home and just before you get to the door tell her how you feel. Tell her you hold your friendship very close to your heart and would like to take your relationship to the next level. Then its up to her.

if your feeling's for this girl are as strong as what you say! just be yourself and be honest...give her a call and ask if you guy's can get together, then tell her how you feel, at the end of the day she may feel exactly the same but be too shy to say, and be waiting for you to make the first move! sure she may not feel the same but at least you have got your feelings out in the open, and unless you are honest and tell this girl how you feel you will never know! good luck and i hope it goes well! remeber girl's like, respect and admire honesty, so go for it!

Dude!! Perfect opportunity to say "Hey, lets go catch up, i havent seen you in like a year, wanna go grab a bite to eat, or get a cup of coffee?" Its wide open for you man, easyiest way just to talk with her. The only way your really going to know how things end up is if you have a good conversation with her, then if shes into you its all in the bag there.

sounds like the movie just friends to me, you need to come right out and tell her how you feel. You dont want to regret it later, doesnt matter what you say and i cant tell you what to say its all up to how you feel fella, but go for it man, good luck.
