how do you know if you are in love or just addicted to what you get from the person?

If you only find yourself sexually drawn to the person =addiction
But if his or her smile lights up the room and you are always wondering what they are doing, you can't think of nothing but that person, and spending time with them, you always want to do something for him or her and never think of yourself. (and you never think what this person can do for me or what can i get out of this person,) then you are in love

Addiction is when you can't stop calling or texting the person and you wanna be with them 24/7. Real love is when you learn to let go and understand that they too have a life. True love is when you share your world together and everything else falls in place....at the right time. So are you in love or are you addicted?

I like what Breni said, however I would venture further into the idea that love involves looking into yourself to define what you have to offer the highest purpose of the other person. If you simply can't be without them, that is putting a lot on them. If you find that you would rather that they had the 'right' life even if it meant that you two could never be...then you are on the right path. You must be willing to lose everything to gain everything. Fundamentally speaking.

when ur in love u truly do care about the person and want to be with them, when it's an addiction, u just want to be around them but no true feelings are behind it, u just get used to them

When your in love then you will do different things for this person that you wouldnt normally do. you will cook for them clean and take them out or even spend large amounts of money and never care as long ans your doing it for them.
addicted is when you never come around besides for that oen thing and you never think of wedding bells

You can't be truly in love if your focus is what you get from them, then it is only a selfish attachment. True love is when you value what they need and want above your own needs and wants. When they are your best friend, when you completely understand each other and are committed to each other.

Try to control your own mind, and than make different questions to yourself, and you will know that you are in love or being hypnotize by your so called lover.
