I enjoy the name Aries as well. The God of War is ARES (no i), where Aries is the astrological sign. The name of the girl from Final Fantasy VII is actually Aeris (or Aerith, depending on the version), which I think is an even better name for a girl. It has a more femenine quality to it, and anyone I met with that name I would instantly think highly of (because the character from the game was so amazing).

I like Aries, well probably because I am an Aries. But it is a very strong masculine name, for a girl. Aries is a ram. Head strong. If that is what you would like in you little girl, then it's a great name for her. Will she be born under the sign of Aries?

Sounds kind of Boyish... If you really like the sound why not using the first few letters and have something less boyish, like Ariel? Remember, she has to live with it for the rest of her life, and some people will just make fun f it for being a star sign.... people are not kind. (My name is Ruriko and I used to get teased every day in primary/high school for having a Japanese name when I am Irish... Just because it sounded different. Silly, but it happens. Nothing wrong with different sounding names, as long as they don;t have other connotations.)

Aries, like many other spiritual and mystical names has a lovely ring to it, but as i've said to many parents please stop for just a second and ask yourself if you can get by with the name your giving your baby, i knew a little boy named Jurgeon, he was constantly teased and picked on at school, but i think aries would go over wuite well, i know alot of little girls who would adore the name aries, it depends MOSTLY, on your baby and what you feel is best

If I'm not mistaken, Aries is the mythological god of war (can't remember if it's greek or roman). Bad name for a girl...or a boy.

I don't know if it would be wise to name your child after a character in a video game that would be recognizable to game-players.

It is a beautiful name but there are many others out there which aren't tied to anything and mean beauty, etc.

Great if she's actually going to be an Aries. If not it would be silly.
