Use products that protect your hair from heat/hair styling gadgets. Cut down on how many times you use heated hair stylers.
Perhaps use hair spray or hair balm to smooth out any strands of hair.
I use Indola 4+4 botanics straightening balm, loreal hair balm and some times I use Paul Mitchells conditioning range.
All these products can be purchased in some Hair Salons or Sallys Hairdressing supplies. You can also buy them online.
Good hair brushes and combs work too. I always use a wide tooth comb when conditioning my hair to even out conditioner and de-tangle.

If over styling is a problem, then stay away from it. You don't want to have your hair keep breaking. If there is a way to trim some of the hair then do so, but a little at a time. If wearing it makes it noticeable then leave it down until you can see that it is getting healthier.

Broken hair maybe cause by you wearing your hair up. By pulling your hair that way the hair is strained and will break, try not to wear your hair like that too often. If you do, make sure you don't pull it too tight. If it really makes you uncomfortable, then my best advise to you is to grow it back. The best way is to weave your entire head for about six month. The hair stylist will braid your hair and it will sit and grow under the weave. Then take the weave out and condition. Perm if needed and weave again, until you have grown your hair back. Never cut off your hair, that solves nothing but gives you short hair, which based on your question, that is not something you are interested in. If you don't like weaves then try a wig on for six month. Make sure your hair is braided under the wig, remove wig and wash, condition and re braid hair, every six weeks. The idea is to leave your hair without stressing it and it will grow back on it's own.

Have a trim and buy some hair repair products I use Tigi which you can buy from salons or online, leave conditioner in your hair for an hour or so, I do this on a weekly basis and go in the sauna for the heat. It feels alot healthier afterwards.

i recommend that u trim just a little maybe 2 inches and then cut back on the styling, and give your hair plenty of nourishment. use good shampoos and conditioners etc by a well-known name. if you want to go that extra step further then rinse hair with bottled water after every wash to keep the pH balanced, unlike tap water that may be too acidic or alkaline.

Basically you need to be kinder to your hair and it will sort itself out. I kinda had the same problem and I did get my hair cut, I know you don't want to do that so try a smoothing serum like Asdas own, it's in a small blueish bottle and you only need one drop rubbed through to give it a bit of mositure.

Be much kinder to your hair, lots of nourishing masks and brush it carefully. Don't wear your hair up for a while, or use hairspray to stick the broken peices down when you do.
