Being a frequent flier I have seen no "lowest" age for babies to travel - except asking your doctor.
That being said - if the flight lasts over a few hours you may want to consider the baby battery you will commit to your fellow travelers.
No one I've met willingly wants to share your crying, pooping, and feeding cycles in a confined space. If there is anyplace a child should be seen and not heard it is on a long air trip. Because people can't read their minds and the child is unable to state what is wrong it can be hell on them and the people around you.
Nothing like being in the proximity of a child who refuses to be comforted for 3-8 hours - no place to escape and no place for alternatives.
Be compassionate and think "is this trip really necessary"..

There is not age limit, airlines allow them from newborn. There might be some health reasons why they shouldn't fly so young though if it can be avoided. You should check that well to be sure to not cause any harm to the child.

Any age now. There used to be a limit of 12 weeks, but there is none now. Babies under 2 DO NOT get their own seat, unless you specifically buy one, therefore they do not pay to fly, but still pay an airport departure tax, of about £20.

You can take your child on a plane at whatever age you like and feel happy doing it - I flew to America (from UK) when I was two months old
