Well, sounds a bit selfish for a girl to say that she'd like her men being in military or not.
The deal is, that military in a healthy way turns a boy into a men, who's able to take responsibility. Men who have had a bit of military education have a stronger mind and are more independent (no laundry goes to mama, do the cleaning of their room or flat by them selves...).
But as written before, it has to be a healthy portion of military education. When he starts to treat his weapon like a woman it might have been too much ;o)

Yes. I believe it shows honor, courage and self-respect. Every man in my family has been in the military and I am proud of all of them. I can't say that it makes me rest easier, but the question is not about my comfort level with the current war situation. Overall, though, I believe everyone should experience that kind of discipline (not necessarily in the military, but in life). I think it would give people a better appreciation of learning to work and live peacefully.

Hell yeah. Why? well, since I'm willing to serve and go through a lifestyle that most people don't go through, I want him to be able to understand me and vouch for me with this decision. If he already knows how hard the road is that awaits, it makes it easier for us to connect and work things out. Plus-I love men in uniform, they look so sharp and handsome; the discipline and the structure they are taught is an integrity that sets the standards high. They are taught to be leaders and fight for their beliefs and I love that.

I LOVE the fact that my husband is a Marine. He takes so much pride in his work and he LOVES it. Sure they 7 month long deployments suck, not to mention the 3 months of training they do prior to a deployment (though not all at once). But being a Marine makes him happy. And that's all that matters.

My dad is a Squadron Leader in the Air Force, and that brought us over to Oman - where I've grown up and I love it here... but thankfully his job is a desk job. I think it's a very noble thing, but if my man was IN a war.... I couldn't handle that.
