While it is possible that it may happen sooner, you generally should not expect compatibility work to be released for a beta product (IE 7). Typically, the compatibility comes from one product after the other is in a final release.
The term beta means that the product is not considered ready for release yet. (It follows alpha releases which are normally not publicly accessible except in the case of open source projects.) It normally encompasses "Beta Testing" to determine what issues may still exist and sometimes goes through additional Release Candidate (RC) stages before a final release is completed.
