Addicted to the online drug Reductil. I can starve myself for weeks on this. I loose a lot in a short space say 3 months about 4 stone then 18 months later back to a size 16...then it happens again ...I go on it again ...and three months later I am a stick ..size 8. I want it to stop. My GP is not approachable. Even when I get to a size 8 I feel too week to do any proper exercise. When I'm on it...my hear rate increases too much so I can't excercise instead I drink fluids and starve. Las time I starved ...three months later after the weight came off..I notice my hair falling out. This is self-abise I know. What can I do other than approaching my GP. One of the side effects of the drug is a high BP and I get easily wound up on them. In the past I have brought stuff or stole stuff (diazepam) to calm me down. I don't want to live like this anymore but I don't want to be judged wither. I hold a good job and my family do not know. They would be disgusted if they knew I was buying Reductil

You can go to another doctor besides your own for assistance with this problem.

You can find an online support group to find others in this situation. Or, start one to attract others who are looking for one.

You may have to ask a trusted family member for help. If they don't know, they will know if your heart gives out. Would they rather have you getting help or not with them at all?

[Edited to add: I just researched this medication and it is sold under the name "Meridia" in the U.S. which is available by prescription].

It seems that yo udo need to speak to a medical proffessional, and your GP doesnt sound too nice - I would suggest either trying to be transfered to another doctor within the surgery, or change doctors surgey altogether.
If this is not an option, there are loads of annonymous helplines that you can call do discuss alcohol and drug dependancey / abuse. See whether they can shed any light onto why you feel the need to put yourself through this, and more importantly, how you can break the cycle.
I wish you the very best of luck - you have taken the first step now by seeing that you have a problem, and wanting to do something about it, so seek that help, and find a healthy balance of losing weight, eating well, feeling good about yourself, and enjoying your life.

I don't believe your family would be disgusted, maybe shocked, concerned, etc... and even if they were disgusted, you're gonna die. Your heart can't do this forever. Even without the drug, such bounces up and down in your weight cause severe stress and muscle loss of the heart... (i know because i was bulimic for years and now have an irregular heartbeat)... Will they be more upset over the drug or your death? and isn't your life worth saving? If you are trying to kill yourself, it will happen eventually so you're doing well... the trouble is, what happens if you decide you don't want to die and it's too late? like a person who goes to shoot themselves and changes their mind at the last moment, only blowing off a part of their skull and mentally disabling them, blinding them, affecting their speech... now they're alive, but really have a bad life. Please, even if just for this crazy yank across the pond, get help. There are places that specialize in eating disorders and do a good job. Your life is valuable and you're going to lose it. It's not just some "possibility", it's reality, so start believing and get scared now. You need help, even if it means embarassment or total humiliation. You shouldn't be ashamed, it happens to many people and even more that die and nobody ever knew. GET HELP, PLEASE!!

Congratulations. You have just made a significant step in the right direction. You might try putting a filter on your internet that won't allow you to go onto any site that sells the stuff. You will need professional help though, I would think. Finding an understanding health professional would help. If you can't get another doctor right away, you might try alternative therapy - traditional Chinese medicine might help. You might also think about joining Alcoholics Anonymous. It's not just for alcohol addiction. And it is anonymous.

You don’t need to exercise for hours on end. Short, sharp sets of exercise will produce better results if you work hard. Are you forgetting the extensive quantity paid in tax each month that is going immediately out of folk's wages? Be it the wages of hill wakers, drinkers, human beings who smoke, drug takers? In concept i think of sure drink and drug addicts could pay for NHS medical care, yet in prepare i do no longer think of it would artwork in any respect. how in the worldwide might you enforce it? As a rustic we'd all do greater effective to ward off such problems occuring, rather than basically stress human beings pay for their addictions/undesirable judgements in life. the place do you draw the line between what's self inflicted and what isn't? Your hill walkers occasion is slightly unusual; yet what in the event that they had to be rescued from unforeseeable climate putting in? Does that make it their fault for going out in the 1st place? There are continuously negative aspects in life, and you could no longer in straightforward terms invoice human beings for the outcomes and say 'your fault, you pay'! could we initiate billing YOU once you go through eye problems from spending time on the cyber web? I get excitement from what you assert, even nonetheless it ought to by no means artwork.

Set performance-based goals. Always set yourself incrementally larger goals each week to make certain you’re engaged and have something to shoot for. Each little achievement is also a reward that you’re going in the right direction. From doing 10 more squats to mastering the latest yoga pose, whatever floats your boat.
