Mother Earth didn't come with a spare unlike your abs. So until we find another planet we can call home we would just have to learn to respect it and protect it. Would you like it if people kept dumping off their trash in your home. Hey there's an idea, send me your address....I'll send you a nice care package!
P.S. You SHOULD be hugging a treee, because that is the ONLY thing that would welcome a hug from you.

Anyone who has lived on a farm (such as myself) has respect for the environment and our relationship to it. On our farm we treated the land with respect (not using chemicals on it) and the land returned excellent crops. We farmed in what today would be thought of as the old way, that is many different crops and rotation, with part of the cycle plowing under certain grass crops, plowing in land contour, and allowing fields to lay fallow. Along with this every field had a fruit tree planted in the center of it and the fence rows were 10 to 20 feet wide with trees growing up in them. Our relationship to the land was guided by the reality of the land.
That said, today many of those who preach, “save the land,” have little idea of what they are talking about. There is a lot of sincere concern among the members of a number of organizations, but the leadership of those organizations are anything but sincere. Specifically organizations such as Earth Liberation Front (ELF), Animal Liberation Front (ALF), People for the Equal Treatment of Animals (PETA), Green Peace, SHACK, as well as a number of others. ELF and ALF are on the FBI’s list of domestic terrorists organization and these organizations agree, ALF admitting to more than 140 domestic acts of terrorism. These organization do more harm to the environment than help it because they are building resistance to any of these groups and indirectly resistance to reasonable efforts to help the environment.
Everyone should be concerned about the environment, but if they really want to accomplish anything, they should do so from a foundation of “facts” and an understanding that scientific development is the answer to any problems and challenges and not simply react. One simple example, landfills are a fact of life. When I was young you could take things to the land fill and people were there to help unload and they were called pickers not employed by the land fill. As they unloaded what you brought, they “picked” through it taking out “anything” that was recyclable. No body paid them because they made a very good living. In a time when the average family income was about $5,000 to $6,000 dollars annually, these pickers would earn about $25,000 a year. No they no longer exist because we have had the “professionals” take over and control the situation. The result is that there are restrictions on what can be taken to the land fill and taxes have been increased to pay for this as well as paying large fees just to enter the landfill.
My point is that a certain amount of common sense should be applied in “protecting the environment” and that begins with actually using facts not belief.

No I go out of my way to upset ignorant neocons like you. It's pretty easy too. How's it going with that deserter Bush and the draft dodger Cheney? I hear Cheney's not going to make any more money off the illegal war contracts from Halliburton. Oh and how do you like paying higher energy bills thanks to your buddies at Enron? How much was your last tank of gas? And what's up with all the hot weather and fires in So. Cal? Hope your favorite Congressman isn't caught up in the Abramoff corruption scandals, Not! Whatever happened to Tom DeLay anyway?

Are you joking? I live in serious hunting country-we ALL poke at the tree huggers. I especially like to talk about hunting when they infiltrate our ranks. I have a bumper sticker on my SUV that said I "HEART" my SUV!
Besides, how sad is some one's life when they have to get their hugs from trees? Can't they find a real live person to hug for crap's sake?

you must have a lot of extra time on your hands.
maybe you should help the world instead of trying to harm it.
no body cares if you do those things, it's you're descendants who'll pay for the consequences.

My sister is one, so yeah, I do. But I also sympathize with her cause. Unlike you, she has vision for the future.
