Muslims belong to Islam religion that originated in the Middle East (Persia) long ago. Their religious text is the Quran.

Sikhs believe in one almighty God as well (Waheguru) but its a very modern religion. The founder (Guru Nanak) was born in 1469 AD, and the religious text (called Guru Granth Sahib)even talks about the existence of many solar systems, and that plants are living (and was written long before these facts were known).

Both Muslims and Sikhs usually wear turbans (which is round in case of Muslims and somewhat oval in case of Sikhs) and do not believe in idol worship.

Sikhism, being modern, has given equal status to women in that there is no religious task that a man can perform and not a woman.

Oh what a question! Do you know Sikh Gurus like guru Tegbhadur, Guru Govind singh fought against Mugal emperor Aurangzeb &others as they were forcefully cnverting Hindus to muslims. Sikh Gurus fought in the favour of hindus &gave their lives. So how the two opposite poles be stand on the similar grounds.Sikhs are always with their country ,may be India or any other they might have migrated,&get mix with the people of that country in regard to culture and religion While Muslims are always very orthodox, not liking any religion except islam. You see all the terrorists are muslims.
Guru Grath Saheb(the sacred book )which i mentions -difference between good & bad, includes zist of teachings of all the religions of the world, even good themes of islam, is followed by sikhs. they are asked by the Various Gurus not to worship the sacred book but follow it's teachings.
This is very little facts about sikhs,If any one wants to know sikhism there is no limit, This is short ,I can say.

Sikhism is a non-Semitic, Aryan, non-Vedic religion. It is a religion that has the sixth largest following in the world. Some consider it as an offshoot of Hinduism. It was founded by Guru Nanak at the end of the 15th century. It originated in the area of Pakistan and North West India called Punjab, meaning the land of the five rivers. Guru Nanak was born in a Kshatriya (warrior caste) Hindu family but was very strongly influenced by Islam and Muslims.

The word ‘Sikh’ is derived from the word sisya meaning disciple or follower. Sikhism is a religion of ten Gurus, the first Guru being Guru Nanak and the tenth and the last being Guru Gobind Singh. The sacred book of Sikhism is Sri Guru Granth also called Adi Granth Sahib.

The best definition that any Sikh can give regarding the concept of God in Sikhism is to quote the Mulmantra – the fundamental creed of Sikhism, which occurs at the beginning of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

It is mentioned in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, volume 1 Japuji, the first verse:

"There exists but one God, who is called The True, The Creator, Free from fear and hate, Immortal, Not begotten, Self-Existent, Great and Compassionate."

There is a word of difference between Sikhs and Muslims. I do not belong to any of the relegion but I have close link with both the communities. I was brought up in Punjab , India where Sikhism originated with the initiative of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He chose 5 volunteers to give the true picture of the relegion which are commonly refered to as " 5 PYARE".They demontrate bravery, dedication , truthfulness. It is generally beleived that a true sikh beleieves in the well being of the society. If one Sikh used to travel in the whole train women used to feel safe. They have created respect for themself in the community by years of hard work. They are known to be generous people. Every sikh more or less belives in the concept of "Dasanj" It means that whatever they earn they normally donate 10 % of it either to the gurudwara or to the well being of the community. They beleive in charity. They firmly believe in " Simple living and high thinking". It comes from " Sikhan di mat uchi man neeva" written in their Holy book Sri Guru Granth Sahib. They beleive in mankind. In their Holy book they have mentioned Jesus Christ, Ram , Kabir ji and have accepted more or less every relegion by saying that God is One and it comes in different forms.
