If you feel like it's being rammed down your throat then how can I answer this question? That tells me that you will not take any answer seriously. If God revealed his true purposes to you then you would die of fear. You could look at it the other way, too. How could there be this much suffering unless there is a God? There are forces at work in this world that are much bigger than you and me. Much bigger than anyone can imagine. And those forces operate through love and grace. Personally I can feel it all around. It's in everything and everyone. Maybe you can't feel it because you are too busy jumping around in your anxiety and your self-centred concerns. If you really want an answer to the question you have posed then one day you will have to let go of these things. Some people are carried kicking and screaming to where God is taking them, some people go quietly, easily, peacefully. But everybody will get there eventually. In the meantime, try to help ease what suffering you can, but don't forget how much joy there is in this life. That is enough for a beginning.

I am sure you know the story of Adam and Eve. When Satan led Adam and Eve into disobeying God, an important question was raised. Satan questioned God's right to rule. By calling God a liar, who withholds good from his subjects, Satan charged that God is a bad ruler. (Genesis 3:2-5)
Had God simply destroyed the rebels, and made a fresh start, he wouldn't have answered the question raised regarding his right to rule. Remember, the rebels were not the only ones involved. Millions of angels were watching. How God handled the rebellion would greatly affect all those angels and eventually, all intelligent creation. So what did he do? He has allowed Satan to show how he would rule mankind. God has allowed humans to govern themselves under Satan's guidance. God knows that all honest-hearted humans and angels will benefit from seeing that Satan and his fellow rebels have failed and that humans cannot govern themselves.

If God were to prevent horrible crimes would he not in effect, be supporting the case of the rebels? Would that not make people think that humans can govern themselves without disastrous results? Why so long, you might ask? Ample time is needed for any ruler to prove his worth. And that's what God has given Satan. Mankind has made advances in science and other fields, but injustice, poverty, crime and war have grown ever worse. Satan's thousands of years of rule is clearly a failure!!!

About the harm that has been done during the long rebellion against God, we should remember that God is Almighty. Therefore, he can and WILL undo all the effects of mankind's suffering. Revelation 21:4 promises, "God will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

Yeah, He really owes us better that that, doesn't He? I mean, we've done sooo much for Him: perfectly taking care of our planet, loving and assisting our neighbor, praising God for all the blessings we have... We do all those things so well, and he can't even bail us out?

We live in an unpredictable world. The forces of nature can both help us and hurt us. People have a free will, and they can chose to use it for good or evil. God isn't some genie that you call on when its convenient for you. Our time here is brief. If I die when I'm 40, do I get ticked off at God because I didn't live to be 80? Does he "owe" us that? Whether this life lasts 100 years or 100 days, its a mere blip on the radar compared with eternity.

I really hate this as well. I don't think that Theists truly believe in God. I feel like they are just pretending. There is no way that we can possibly prove it. Also, what's wrong with saying that we don't know if there is a God or not? I finally got my religious mother to say this.

To understand God is to first realize that He is not human but divine. Therefore, if you try to further understand him by applying human logic and emotions, you are bound to fail because God cannot be bound by human reason.

To quote the Bible in Isaiah 55:8-9: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.
"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Now, if we humans realize our insignificance and humbly acknowledge that we cannot comprehend the majesty of God, then it will be easier to out our faith in an almighty God.

Read the Job 38-41 and gain an inkling of the majesty of God.

God is the best excuse ever invented, even better than the "The Devil made me do it" excuse. You could also consider God as the Universal Alibi, and complete justification for any act of war, murder or mayhem you may desire to commit.

what's morality? once you ought to invite you does no longer understand. oftentimes for you who who've rejected God that's ought to makes excellent. One evening i became observing a school of sharks swimming around the boat and that i became throwing some fish overboard and observing the sharks. a smaller shark grabbed the fish and a larger shark banged it countless situations and it confirmed that even sharks have a pecking order. For you in basic terms the expressed stress of a pecking order can symbolize any type of morality. In wolf packs and with cats also killing the offspring of weaker animals is a great variety of morality because it facilitates your genetic offspring the most resources consisting of extra constructive looking territory and get entry to to nutrients for survival. with no moral code there is not any larger variety of existence allowed than the necessary ought to makes excellent. As a Christian i believe in the moral regulation as expressed in the Bible taking off with the ten Commandments and that i believe moral regulation is the civil regulation expressed in a society.yet as a rustic we've deserted that theory. The weakest contributors of our race are unborn babies yet we've got deserted moral regulation and butcher babies in the womb,. i believe that the elderly will be next fantastically with socialised drugs as 50% of a persons' lifetime clinical expenditures ensue in the most suitable 6 months of a pesons existence. i'm looking ahead to protesters marching round nursing houses chanting, " imagine of the money it may keep away from in case you in simple terms kill granny and throw her in a grave". i will't surely help you on your quandry as you've rejected God and in doing so that you've also deserted moral regulation. in case you get robbed or mugged that's basicallly in simple terms moral regulation that has been violated so that you won't be able to say it became incorrect for you to be robbed. i wager the superb difficulty for try to be to affix a gang and keep on with the regulation of the %..

If God crashed down right now to make people do what He wanted (not kill, etc) then free will would no longer exist and most people on here are all about having their free will.....so we must deal with evil.
God will end it all soon though, be patient.
