Just follow your heart. You could personalize the proposal by taking her somewhere that's special for the two of you, such as the place you went on your first date, the place you met her, the place you fell in love with her, etc. Wherever you do it, or however you do it, make it special and unique to the two of you. If it's personalized, and not just the general go out, get down on one knee and ask thing, it'll be a story she'll be proud to tell for the rest of her life! And believe me, she'll be telling the story over and over and over again for quite a while. So get creative, and good luck!! :D

I had a guy-friend who asked his girlfriend out this way - I suppose you could adapt it to be a proposal ;) Do a scavenger hunt. Leave her clues with little trinkets. Let the last clue be a time and date for the dinner where you propose to her :)

Do something really unique. For example-- I like the scavenger hunt idea really well but get her started on it and then be in the end place in a suit, the ring in your pocket and flowers in your hand and get down on one knee and ask her then. Chances are really good she will say yes to that one.

If you are talking marriage, then, you surprise her in the middle of a restaurant and get down on one knee and ask her hand in marriage.

It worked for me, if not a little embarrassing, but we got a free bottle of wine.

Take you pants off and then throw your hips at her suggestively while murmurring heh, heh, heh, how 'bout that b*tch.

It's up to you. I only suggest you try to be original.
