My GF and I have known each other for almost 1 & a half yrs, it is a long distance relationship. She is studying & I am working. We have only seen each other 4 times because of the distance, but we know each other well and we love each other. Given our circumstances we will never be together more than we will be apart! I'm loyal and she is too, but is it not unfair for both of us too wait so long? I mean in the next 3 yrs we will probably see each other for about 3 months...Can love withstand that, I mean we need to be together to know what we will be like a couple, to make our love grow, but its just not possible. And also how can we convince our parents that we are good for each other when we're not together physically. I find it hard to convince myself... She wants a future with me but I don't see how we can grow in a relationship that is doomed by distance. I wouldn't want her to stop her studies or move. How do we survive this. Is it possible?

well long distance relationships are very hard. not easy. you are right, no matter how much you love someone, it does not make a relationship work. If there is a way that you could be together, it would be easier on your relationship. but if you cannot work their and she cannot school where you are then it is going to have to be long distance. One of your should try and change move, but if it impossible and you are meant to be then it will work somehow, it will just be hard.

Having a relationship allways needs work. Living apart like this must be a great challenge, because you get used not to be toghether, and maybe you dont know each other as well as you'd like - after all? As she is studying and you are working - how come you dont get a job in the area she studies?

True love can withstand anything. It will survive bumps in the road, and continue to grow stronger. If you love her, why do you have to convince yourself or anyone else? You know when you know. Where there is love, desire, and a will, you'll always find a way. I wish you both the best!!!

if you want to be together then one of you will have to more eventually. love isn't enough to make a relationship work, you need the right circumstances.
if you are both willing to wait for that to happen then you should stay but if it's not worth the trouble then let it go. you both sound pretty young. who knows, of you're meant to be maybe you'll meet again when circumstances are better suited for both of you.

good luck to you both. i couldnt do the long distance thing. I would find a way to be with my partner. love will find a way. But then again my aunty and uncle were apart for their first 18months of marriage and are now back together and fine. works for some.

no it is always love. what you dont have in any other area, money, a home, material needs. love can make up for, but no amount of money, no mansion or yacht will make up for a lack of love. although it does keep your fans close to you ;o)

love is enough, bc it does make us do better than we would w/o it for the other person as well as ourself.
