As a child, I found that I would have recurring visions of scenes and situations from past times. They often came up in my dreams, although some would also be triggered by mundane events, such as unwrapping a piece of chocolate. I believe that most of the memories stem from five past lives. I believe the oldest is a life in which I am a child viewing the northern lights. In another, I was a Roman soldier who was killed when a building collapsed on him. I also remember being a woman at a churchyard in the 1600's. I was also a boy, a blacksmith's apprentice, who was shoved into a furnace along with his master during the Revolutionary War (hence I hate war). Most memories stem from my immediate past life, in which I was a woman who lived from the 1880's to the 1960's. In that life, I started out in a rural area, received a college education, travelled to Europe, and died well-off. I would like to be hypnotized eventually to learn more about these lives.

Reincarnation is a natural law which most people are not aware of. I was a kid like the ones described by Dr. Ian Stevenson http://www.childpastlives.org who came into the world with memories of my most recent life, which was between the early 1900s and the mid 1930s. When I began talking, I often insisted to my mom that I had "another mother" and I wanted to know why she wasn't there with me. And when I began walking, I slipped out the back door toward the woods, determined to find my way back home. I always knew my name and many details of my life, and some of the circumstances around my death. I knew nothing about reincarnation at that time, and I can remember feeling so confused when I was very young, wondering if I was the only person in the world who had "come back" in a new body. I felt that I had been cursed by 'God' to reincarnate, when no one else had.

It's my belief that one of the reasons I remember this past life is to have the opportunity to share the experience with others and let them know that reincarnation is real - whether they believe it or not. It's a message of hope, and it's the Rosetta Stone that clarifies 'God' in ways that no religion could ever do.

I have researched this most recent past life of mine and proved beyond all doubt to myself and those who know me that the memories I was born with are genuine recollections of myself in another time and place - but proof wasn't necessary - I've always *known* I was here before.

I'm also aware of other lives, though not as clearly as the most recent one.

You might want to try self regression. Check out the book The Idiot's Guide to Past Life Regression (lots of good stuff in that). Through mental exercises, meditation, dreams and self analysis you can open doorways in your subconscious that will show you more.

I wish I could remember past lives as well!! I don't remember allot, but for some reason I think I might have been a madam in a brother during the 1800's. I can see the girls and allot of red velvet if I think about it. You should certainly be hypnotized to find out more!

i dont call them past lives- they are images to tell people something.
i 'remember' being a girl of nobility in new mexico(it seems) fighting for rights of the poor, even unto personal danger...marrying an evil powerful man to control his hold over the debts of the poor...and being murdered on his discovering my love for the poor.
then the other was of a singer in a band who has to stay behind the scenes as im a girl and they're all guys...writing songs for them yet no name for it...
then there is the girl in what seems to be 1940
on the streets, dressing as a man, hanging with people who i wud be scared to approach usually...of all these 'i' survive only on the street..strange huh?
yet i know they r not me...some unfinished story that has to be brought to light, some time in history...

I have impressions, some are joined to people I have known in this life, none of us looked the same as we do now, sometimes the eyes, sometimes nothing. Sometimes I get impressions of people I'm close to. I used to be really good at it, but it scared the crap out of my hubby. I'm not going to go into most of them b/c most of them are private and things I don't like to share with people, but one that affected me was one that was always vivid. When I started to walk, I'd always put my left hand to my skirt, dress or pants, like I was lifting a long skirt so I wouldn't trip, I used to ask my mom when it was time for our afternoon tea and that I wanted crumpets instead of scones(what 3-yr-old knows what a crumpet is, much less a scone???). I'd tell my mother that I couldn't find my gloves (in the summer) and she'd give me my wool mittens and I told her that I needed the white thin ones because I was embarrassed by my bruises (I had none). When my parents would go to spank me, I'd tell them not to hit my face (because it would bruise) and I'd go limp (my parents were non-violent and rarely spanked me and never hit any of us in the face) Little weird things. As I got older, I had impressions of being in Victorian clothing, in a big house and being fairly wealthy. I remember having tea with a friend and wearing white gloves during tea and tugging the cuff over a bruise on my wrist. In the impression, almost like a memory, I can see my husband then (not my husband in this life) grab me by the wrist and drag me and show me something that wasn't quite to his liking. I can hear my friend saying that the bruises were "Our lot in life as women." The friend I had tea with was someone I'd become friends with in this life and she asked me when we first met, "Do I know you? You seem really familiar." Over the course of our friendship, we'd talk about past lives and she'd say she dreamt about being in the Victorian Era and being in a bad marriage. I can't speak in certainties, but I can say she's never married and chose a career in law enforcement. I ended up being a counselor to battered women. As for seeing things in others, my one sister I don't think was human in a past life, not in a bad way, but it's like sometimes animal spirits can graduate up into human form (or vice versa), sounds crazy, but whatever. My other sister and I both got the impression that my hubby is the oldest he's ever gotten to in this life and I'm worried for him b/c he always died of unnatural causes in his past lives. I think sometimes we're allowed to remember just enough so that we can learn what we need to in this life to complete certain lessons before we can go to "heaven" or whatever higher place there is than this.

Reincarnation is real. Indeed, the belief in it is the begining of an understanding of the existence or otherwise of 'paradise' and 'hell'.

Past lives?! What a laughable notion. Some say I was Napoleon in a past life, but I STILL AM!
