So Jesus *is* the Holy Spirit now?
Then what the thing that came to Jesus' shoulders when John the Baptist baptist Jesus in the shape of a dove?
"Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have."
Luke 24:39

First, you should distinguish your question between Holy Spirit and Jesus. In Christianity, Holy Spirit is considered part of God (the Father) and Jesus is also considered part of God. But they have different personalities that make up the concept of "Trinity" (i.e. the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit).
From the Muslims' perspective, the Muslims don't believe that "Holy Spirit" is God. However, Muslims believe that there is "Holy Spirit" (In Arabic, it is called "Rohul Quddus") but the "Holy Spirit" is actually the angel Gibrael (In Arabic, it is called "Jibril").
From the Muslims' perspective, the Muslims don't believe that Jesus is God or the son of God. However, Muslims believe in Jesus as a holy man that God has chosen to be a prophet and messenger of God. Muslims believe Jesus can heal sick people, can cure a blind man etc. But he is not God.
I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that Jews also do not believe that Jesus is God.
You question regarding punisment is not clear. Do you mean what is the punishment in Christianity for people who do not believe Jesus is God? Or Do you mean what is the punishment in Islam or Judaism for someone who believe that Jesus is God? Or do you mean that what is the purpose of punishment in the afterlife, i.e. hellfire, if Jesus is not God?
From Islamic teaching, someone commits sin and will be punished by God in the afterlife if the person does not follow God's order or direction. For Muslims, God's orders or directions are stated in the Holy Books especially in the Quran.

Muslims believe in Jesus correctly: He was the son of the virgin Mary, He is the last Prophet in the line of Isaac, He is a Messenger of Allaah, He is the Spirit of Allaah (Rooh-Allaah), He will return to the earth near the end times to slay the Anti-Christ and establish the kingdom of God following the Holy Book, the Qur'an.
Muslims also believe in the Holy Spirit called Rooh-Qudoos. Some Muslims scholars say this is the Angel Gabriel (Jibraeel).
Punishment is not for man to decide. God will punish and reward as He wills. Your job is to be a good person and a good neighbor.

who says that Islam does not believe in Jesus??
well... it is along story to differentiate between do not believe and believe but there's something different.
Islam believes in Jesus definitely, but this religion believes that Jesus has lifted to the heaven by God (body and soul) before they put Him on the cross...
this is the only obvious difference that i found when I read both (bible and Quran). and why do you think there is a punishment?? I don't know about Jews... still wanna study about that religion.. but Muslim people believes in God and Jesus.. like you exactly... so what punishment do you mean?
as a comment on wt some people here said... Muslim Islam believes in the holy spirit it is mentioned in the quran. and God has sent that spirit to Jesus... and Islam believes that Jesus is the Messiah. actually the name of Jesus in Islam is AL Messiah... and to explain what the ward prophet means to this religion: it refers to that person who has chosen by God to carry his mission on Earth...
That what I know
cheers,

Jews and Muslims don't believe Jesus is the son of God. For Jews, he was a good teacher, for Muslims he was the second greatest prophet.
Punishment/judgement is not for us to decide.

The Holy Spirit in Islam He is the angel Gabriel. The angel Gabriel is highly esteemed as the "Trustworthy Spirit
God is One. There is no Trinity. Jesus is a prophet of God, and like all his fellow prophets, he is a human being. We love him, and believe in him, and affirm all of his miracles, bestowed upon him as a favour from his Lord. He called for the worship of God alone and for righteousness - as every prophet of God has done. However, his pure monotheistic message was gradually changed by 'Christians' into a polytheistic one, by transforming Jesus(the servant of God, into a mythological God-incarnate figure to be worshipped alongside God All-Mighty.
Jesus was in a mother's womb. He needed nutrition; he was born and grew up to be a man.A man who needs to eat, walk, sleep, rest, etc.. cannot have Divine Attributes because he is in need and God is Self-Sufficient

okay, each and every one of us has a right to believe in something. What we believe in is our choice but in the end it all comes to one thing - we all need to believe in something. It is more or less sick to punish someone for what they believe in, or how they worship their God, but yea, it happenes. It happenes a lot these days. But in my opinion it is also very wrong to wait to be told by someone or something what should be punished and what shouldn't be. It doesn't matter what the bible says. You don't need anyone to tell you what certain people believe in. You don't know what's in people's heads. Sometimes it's enough to hear that good old "what goes around, comes around" to know that it doesn't matter what anyone says.
