well, long story short..earlier tonight i tried to hook up a webcam-to no avail.
after realizing it wasnt going to work, i uninstalled everything i could find on my computer that had to do with it and thought i was finished with it.
now a little box thing keeps coming up telling me to insert the webcam disk. i had already put it back in the box to take back to the store, and the only option it gives is "ok". so i clicked it and it just keeps coming back up! over and over...it eventually goes away for a few minutes but comes back again. i ended up getting the disk out and putting it in. it immediatly ejected it and told me to insert some unknown disk that i dont have.
so now i am back to clicking ok, ok, ok...
do you know how to get rid of this? i would really appreciate any help! thank you :)

YUGI-OH-----the cam is creative, instant. that thing is impossible! after the first install didnt work, i tried again and everything was messed up...i dont even know where to start explaining all the things that went wrong. the directions only said to follow the start up..there was no troubleshooting or anything...so i am under the impression it is supposed to be easy. i dont know where i went wrong.

Ring... Ring....
Thank you for calling D-**** technical support
This is Yugi-Oh how may help you?
What's the brand and model of your webcam?
Ok...
You're using Windows ME.
First Windows will detect the newly installed device if it tells you it cannot find the driver on the disk here's what to do.
NOTE: It depends on the product.
Some driver's for a device contains an autorun feature:
Insert the Disk Driver, if autorun works
Click on Install driver
It will automatically install the driver on specific location after
that it will prompt you to restart the computer.
Restart the computer.
Windows will again detect the device installed, after that Windows will say "New hardware found" you will notice it will install the new driver and will tell you "Your new hardware is installed and ready to use"
It may vary since you didn't mention the brand and model of your webcam.
Or you could also do the steps provided on the manual of your web cam.
I could assist you better if could tell the brand and model of your webcam.

Go to your programs folder and delete the folder. Unistall frequently leaves the file in programs, because the folks that sold it to you don't want you to remove it.Go to:www.konrapo.com and download autostart, a small free standalone application.Open the start programs, and kill it {or any other} from there. You can add it back later if need be.

Be careful doing this!
First, reboot if you haven't already and see if you get the same problem. If you do, try these...
Go to Start/Run and type regedit. Follow the folder tree to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\
Microsoft \Windows \CurrentVersion \RunOnce
Look in there for something referring to setup or your camera software and delete the item (in the right-hand pane only!).
If there is nothing there, try HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\
Microsoft \Windows \CurrentVersion \Run
Look for a similar item in there.
Once you have found the item and removed it, reboot your computer and it shouldn't ask you anymore.
Make sure you close regedit - you don't want to delete anything you aren't sure about!

1) Make sure its uninstalled from add/remove programs in control panel.
2) Goto start.. run.. type in msconfig.. Look in the startup tab for anything that mentions that cam/cam maker and uncheck it.
3) Look in Windows Explorer and browse to..
\Windows\inf\others
If you see your cam/cam makers mentioned there.. Delete it.
That should take care of it.. Good luck

Assuming you're using Windows XP, do a system restore.
Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts.
