See the Christians' theory eats it's ownself.
Jews never (other than very few) believed Jesus as the prophet of God even though he does fit few prophecies (there are many left unfulfilled) about the Massiah and Christians don't call them Anti-Christ but Muslims believe him without even reading the Bible as the prophet of God and they call them Anti-Christ.

I think the main reason about the Massiah's signs is listed in Deuteronomy 18:17-18
"And the Lord said onto me, they have well spoken that which they have spoken, I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him." (Deuteronomy 18:17-18)

Let's see how much to a person who is not Christian does Jesus seems alike as Jesus.

* Moses was born like normal human beings, Jesus was not

* Moses was married and had children, Jesus was not married and had no children.

* Moses died from natural cause, Jesus (according to current Christians) was crucified.

* Moses was not only prophet but also a statesman, Jesus was only a prophet (according to Muslims belives, current Christians say Jesus is God)

* Moses had a forced emigration as an adult, Jesus has none.

* Moses had some hot pursuits with the enemies, No similar stories can be found about Jesus.

* Those encounters gave Moses some great moral and physical victories, Jesus only had moral victories (if any).

* Revelations to Moses from God were written in his lifetime, Jesus' were written after his lifetime.

* Moses' teachings were spritual AND legal, Jesus only had spritual teachings.

* Moses was first rejected by the Jews and then was accepted by the people of that time and area, but as you can see, Jesus didn't get to achive that.

Note: this is only one reference I have taken from OT, current Christians say Jesus fulfilled more than (or just about) 10 prophecies from OT.

Can't blame Jews if they didn't accept it.

some Jews believe that Jesus became a prophet and some do not. those that believe he became a prophet believe that what the bible tells about Jesus being God in the flesh, became placed there by the Roman Catholic church. Even in Jewish Messianic custom, the Messiah isn't the actual embodiment of God, yet particularly a messenger from God that brings peace to the international. To believe in the biblical account of Jesus ought to flow hostile to that preparation. it should be like asking a Christian to low-priced part of the bible. There also are Muslims who believe that Jesus became a prophet, and really a similar is authentic for them.

I've been told he is regarded as a great teacher with much wisdom to impart, but not as Messiah or Prophet.

They wouldn't have killed him in that case, would they? What about John the Baptist, by the way? He was considered a prophet in his time, before Jesus started his teaching, wasn't he?

According to the reports that were circulating back then, they believe that He was a sorcerer or a magician or something like that. They don't deny that He performed miracles. They just deny that they were wrought by the power of God.
