I know that there is the temptation to toss and turn to find a cool spot, but the very best way to cool down and fall asleep is actually to stay very very still and your body temperature then falls, your breathing slows, and you can fall asleep.
Try and leave a window open, as fresh air also will help you stay asleep.
If there is not much ventilation in the room, a fan is not a good option, as it just ends up circulating hot air.
It is also better to sleep in a thin cotton nightie or pjs as opposed to naked, as you need some material to soak up sweat while you sleep.
Just before getting into / onto (!) bed, rub some cold water over your arms and legs, and leave skill wet when you lie down.
Sweet dreams.

I was having alot of anxiety before sleeping and could not fall asleep. Had many many sleepless nights.

I was just playing with the program one afternoon and wanted to listen to the Power Nap track. Next thing I knew I was waking up! Fell right asleep without trying. After using the Fall Asleep track, I could fall asleep right away. But I didn't realize that I shouldn't be using that one all night. Switched to Whole Night and have been using it ever since.

I can go to sleep with ease now. I just lay and listen to the sounds and next thing I know I am waking up from a nice sleep. I don't suffer from lack of sleep anymore. I keep an IPod with earbuds next to my bed and take it ALWAYS when traveling. The earbuds help block out ambient noise and the sleep tracks keep me sleeping sound :)

Reboot your brain & sleep soundly again?

have a cool shower and settle down , drink cold milk and sleep on a cotton sheet with a cotton sheet covering you .
Ive got a fan but I'm a light sleeper and it keeps me awake .
make sure you get the air circulating throughout the day in your bedroom , also if the sun is entering your room in the p.m. then shut your curtains you'd be surprised how much cooler it is .
perhaps sleep in a cooler room down stairs e.g. on the sofa .
you could always take nytol a herbal sleep remedies to help you too ..
good luck .

Yep, if u got a/c turn it on low - so u don't catch a cold. If u don't have a/c & don't want 1, go buy a silent fan & turn it on. If u are able to (not applicable in some parts of the world) open your doors & windows to get some natural air. Just hope u got a breeze or else u'll need a towel to wipe the sweat off you!!! -(( Here in Cyprus it's hot & sticky @ night but count me as a lucky one as my room is upstairs so I can have doors & windows open. -))

Put a bottle of water in the freezer until it has completely frozen.

Set a fan on low speed pointed in your direction. Put the bottle in front of it and it will give you a really cool breeze.

Also, if you must have a sheet, use cotton. Polyester fibres make you sweat.

Have a thermos of cold water or squash by your bed.

WEAR A LIGHT/MEDIUM WEIGHT GOWN THAT HAS BEEN SATURATED WITH WATER. YOUR BED WILL BE A LITTLE DAMP( BUT IT WILL BE FROM SWEAT ANYWAY IF YOU DON'T)BUT WILL DRY BY MORNING. KEEP AN OSCILLTATING FAN OR CEILING FAN GOING ON YOU IF YOU CAN. KEEP A GLASS OF ICE WATER BY THE BED IN CASE YOU WAKE UP HOT AND DOUSE YOURSELF AGAIN! IT WAS 103 HERE IN EAST TEXAS TODAY AND HAS BEEN REALLY HOT FOR A WHILE. NO RAIN! I'M AFRAID I'D LOOSE MY CAT IF SHE WENT OUTSIDE BECAUSE OF THE LARGE CRACKS IN THE YARD!
