I broke it three days ago and I taped it up thinking it would be fine. Its not doing so well. Need some opinions on how to treat it.

most fractures will heal find on there own but depending on your age if you are still growing up to the age of about 23 then the plate that causes your bones to grow can be affected. this can cause a lot of problems. also small fragments of bone can be broken off and migrate through the body causing problems. this happened to me. a small very small Peace of bone from my thumb moved up to my wrist it had to be surgically removed. so even if it really does not seem that bad it is worth getting looked at.

Immobilize it.I used two metal splints and some strong medical tape. But if its still bothering you alot i highly recommend you have it x-rayed and treated by a doctor as it may not be healing correctly.IT does throb alot don't it?

Immobilize the hand and use lots of ice... they take a long time to heal... try not hitting hard things in the future.
