There is no cure, only chemo or radiation that doesn't treat the damaged DNA, only the symptoms. The medical field does not know why some people stay in remission and why some people relapse. My son had chemo & radiation for over 2 years, he was in remission for the following 2 years, then relapsed, undergoing more chemo, radiation and a bone marrow transplant, he relapsed within 3 months and received more chemo that eventually caused his demise.

Cancer treatment is done in the following three ways:

1. Surgical Method: In this the cancer is excised(removed) by surgery. This is the most effective way as the entire tumor is removed from the body.

2. Radiation Therapy: In this high-energy beams are focussed on to the cancer cells, which gets deactivated by them. This method is done alone or given after surgical removal for complete remission.

3. Chemotherapy: In this method drugs to kill the cancerous cells are injected into the patient through the veins. Chemotherapy is still in trial basis.

These three methods if done at an early stage can definitly cure a person from the deadly disease. And over these methods what is needed throuhout the treatment is the confidence of the patient in himself.

Thre is no cure for cancer. The only thing that can be done is chemotharaphy or radiation. Sometimes the Doctors do both. This does not always work. It depends what stage the cancer is in. I had Chemo in 1987 and have been fine ever since. Mine was in stage one. On the other hand my son was in stage four. He did not survive. I hope this answers some of your questions concerning Cancer.

Nice to see "Happydawg" putting prayer as #1.

My mom's been a cancer survivor for 7 years - having gone the totally alternative route via diet and attitude (no drugs, surgery or chemo). Too much to write here, so if you'd like more information, I can send you several attachments concerning what specific diets, nutritional supplements and other modalities our family employed. apuzyr@yahoo.com

PS: Please put "cancer" in the Subject line so I know not to delete as spam.

I agree with the general consensus that there is no "cure" for cancer. But there are treatments to combat it and hopefully eradicate it from the body to the point of remission.

We grow cancer cells in our body all the time. Normally they don't divide and multiply and our immune systems get rid of them. No one knows why we develop cancer; why our bodies all of a sudden don't get rid of the cancer cells and it begins to multiply and spread. There are factors that can play in to it; weakened immune system, stress, environmental factors, diet, who knows. Any one or every one of those things, plus more could be factors as to why we get cancer.

But as stated before, the traditional methods to combat cancer are to have a combination of one or all of the following; surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.

I for one, believe that there are other self treatments that we can do to increase our odds of survival. They are called adjunct treatments.

One of the most important factors, believe it or not, is our attitude. We must strive to have a positive attitude.

I would also lie in bed and meditate as I breathed in that healing was entering in to my body and as I breathed out the toxins and cancer were leaving my body. I would actually visualize this; even to the point that my white blood cells, boosting my immune system were white knites on steeds, battleing that evil black cancerous cells. Why I could do this, is because I aggressively fought the cancer with extremely high doses of antioxidants and other supplements, which helped me to feel as though healing were able to surge through my body and kill hte cancer.

I've included links to some of the self treatments that I utilized. I had stage 4 breast cancer. My doctor, who usually was very positive actually said something to me that was quite out of character. He said, "You are full of disease." So my reaction was that it was just a bit more of a challenge and that when I beat it it would be an even greater testimony of faith and positive thinking and utilizing nutritional means that have been provided to us on this earth for healing, in my case for cancer.

The progress that I made astounded the doctors and they were elated at the results and confounded. I know it was G-d's grace and providence that this happened because I believe I was lead every step of the way by Him.

We each much make our own journey and be true to ourselves and true to our faith in our G-d; whoever that may be.

Please check out the links below. I hope they will be able to help, if you asked the question because either you or someone you love has been diagnosed with cancer. Thank you and good luck...

They don't scure it, they treat it unfortunately.

Chemotherapy, radiation therapy, alternative natural therapies. The man who won Australian of the Year this year is working on a cancer vaccine for cervicular cancer, thats pretty exciting.

Technically, cancer is never "cured". It's in remission, or undetectable. But there's always the chance it will come back.
