I would say that my moral beliefs came first. As a child, I developed my sense of what I felt was right and wrong based on what I was taught in school since my family didn't go to any church. I also based this sense on what I felt was beneficial to those people around me, and later, those I didn't know.

My religious beliefs are currently in flux. As a teenager, I associated myself as a Christian. Now, I wouldn't know how to describe myself other than agnostic, for I believe in higher powers, reincarnation, ghosts, and other mystic properties. This flux has not changed my moral sense, which I base more on mankind's benefit rather than any religious dogma. At this point, my moral sense is static, which things learned early on usually are. I feel that my moral sense perhaps leads my religious flux as I try to find what life is all about. I now believe that life is about love, and that fits my moral sense.

I wasn't ever raised towards any religion although I was always kind of taught there was a God, however, me and God didn't get along very well morally so I was atheist for awhile so that I could live by morals and didn't have to worry about not conforming to a strict set of rules at threat of hell. However after reading into buddhism I've found it a much better way of life. It isn't really a "religion" and forces nothing on you. The buddha himself told people not to follow him or blindly accept anything, you don't follow any part of buddhism unless you believe it's right. So it destroys any line between religious or moral values.

In my own life (and I would think for most people), moral and religious beliefs came at the same time. Whether we like it or not, we all get our first moral and religious (or nonreligious) beliefs from our parents, and it seems to me they come at the same time. Only later do we begin to explore other moral or religious beliefs.

I was raised religious. In part due to my morals I am a non-theist. My moral beliefs have altered my religious beliefs.

I was raised with religious beliefs, but replaced them very early on with moral beliefs (before I was in junior high).

i remembered back then, during my kindergarten years (honest, i do), and i studied in a catholic school for that matter. back then, we (my family) spoke in straight english (being a filipino, it's kinda weird to hear children to speak in straight english, circa 70's) and often we were tease and stared upon... as a child i was taught never to lie and steal. And every night to pray to jesus (which started when i had my early education). so i was taught my morals even before my religious belief.... thru the years one has been modified by the other and i wont say which was which....

Thanks For Your Question :)

Well I'm a Muslim thank God and my moral beliefs never conflicts my religious beliefs because simply they are the same God didn't created the religion to conflict with my human nature or with my beliefs God says in The Quraan :" Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned."

I think probably my moral beliefs. I was raised Christian, but I soon became unsatisfied with it. And once I knew what morals I had, I looked around for a religion that fit... haven't really found one yet, but I'm still looking. :)

My moral code. My religious beliefs had to align with this, not the otther way around. I found a religion that fit with what I knew to be true for myself. So actually I changed my religion to one that fit with what I knew to be true.
