Generally I recommend people not drop more than 500 calories a day. More than that and you start sacrificing muscle, slow your metabolism, and wind up with low energy.

I like your approach though. You are keeping active - thus building muscle and boosting your metabolism. It also shows you know what you are doing in terms of calorie consumption.

Just be sure that you take a multi-vitamin, keep exercises and choise healthy food choices. The weight will come off if you follow a good workout and keep your food consumption moderate. Try to spread your meals around as well -- 4 to 6 smaller ones work the best.

Also, a good tool to try and use is http://www.fitday.com. It's free and I like to use when I am counting calories.

If you need 2,100 calories, then keep that amount and nothing more. Try burning more then those calories to loose weight.
