I've heard of them. I don't believe in "black magic" But it might be fun to make one & try it out. I don't know why a simple question would make people answer so rudely. The smokin crack comment was immature and stupid.

the Voo-doo doll is used in the practice of voo-doo. It is very dangerous to work with magic that you do not know about. You should study voo-doo before you do anything like making a doll. There are consequences to practicing magic that will harm others. Whatever you do to someone, it will come back to you three-fold (9 times worse). Read up, and make sure it is what you want to do!

The practice of placing pins in a doll was used as a healing technique by those of the Vodou religious tradition. The pins were placed according to the pressure points of the body. It is debated as to how this translated into a means to place a curse upon individuals. Speculation is that it began with slavery. If you want to purchase a 'Voodoo Doll' check shops around Memphis and New Orleans or online.

In contrast, poppets are used by some who practice witchcraft. These usually take the image of the recipient of the intended change (magick) and can be made out of an infinite array of materials. Most who use poppets craft their own.

As for your question about devil worshipers, the answer is no. Satan is a Christian belief. I suspect you ask of this because of concern of a negative outcome for either yourself or another. It is advisable to research informational sources ...paying special attention to the guiding principles of the Wiccan Rede and the Three-fold Law.

Voo-Doo dolls are intended for devil worshippers at all, they are the product of an obscure indian type of religion. And you don't need to buy one, they are considered more effective if you make it yourself. It can be out of rags or a corn husk doll or even a full blown stuffed doll, as long as you are doing the process right and thinking of the person the whole time you are making it and using it.

You should really do some studying. Most voo-doo dolls have nothing to do with "devil-worshipping".

No. I don't believe in voo-doo dolls. I stick them with a pin every chance I get.

To correct your forst answerer, Voodoo doesn't have a 3-fold rule. They are confused with Wicca which doesn't answer for ALL witchcraft. Only Wicca has a 3-fold law.
I gather by now that you know voodoo dolls are not anything to do with a non-existent devil.
I make my own out of white cotton, it saves a lot of money. I also know of someone who makes them out of plasticine though I am dubious about that.
They are great to use in Spells for healing and protection and also for hexing. xx

Vou-Dou dolls are not for devil worship. Vou-Dou is a recognized religion and used for sympathy magick. You can make one yourself (best way) or get one in New Age stores, on-line shops and (my personal favorite) go to New Orleans and get one. Please consider using the Internet for research on the proper use of one.

Honestly, I've had days when I wished those things worked.

I still think that TV commecial with the "voodoo website" was the cutest thing.
