Brown Sugar,
I´m not a Bible expert.
I've become a life expert.
I sincerely believe that 99% of all of us are
depressed to some extent.
When it is deep depression, there are medications
that can help (again, sorry, not an expert), but I do
know that there is an 'inner' you that is very strong
just become aware of it and let it come out.
We have so much on our plates, I've found the way to
deal with it is to prioritize and deal with one little thing at a
time. It sounds foolish, but it helps. Try to seek help.
You are worth so very much, start by giving yourself
credit. We will never have all the answers we seek,
but the trying is what is important. Believe in yourself!
Please try, if not for yourself, then for those who love you.
Hope this helps. God Bless!

As someone who used to struggle with depression and masochism, I'll take a stab at this. The bible doesn't mention either specifically, as far as I know anyway. The closest thing would probably be references to having struggles and things of that nature in this world. It sucks, but life is hard, and sometimes it feels like we have more than our fair share of crap raining down on us. But at the same time, I have no doubt why we go throught it...

Almost all the growth you will make as a person is when life sucks and you are going through things you'd rather not. It tests you and stretches you in ways that, when things are good, you just don't get stretched. Luckily, after time being mad at God, thinking God was mad at me, and stuff like that I finally gave up and admitted I couldn't do it anymore and I needed his help. The root of my problem was simply that I insisted on being in charge in my own life even when I knew I was doing things I shouldn't. When I admitted it, things changed, literally, in an instant. I can't promise the same for you, but I do promise there is a reason and God will you bring you out of it as soon as you're ready.

Since then, God has brought in my path several people with the same struggles as I used to have, and I have been able to offer advice and friendship through things that I wouldn't understand if I hadn't have been there. I've had two people tell me flat out they probably wouldnt be alive anymore if I hadn't have been a shoulder for them to rest on. I don't say that to brag, but just to show that God WILL use the stuff you've gone through to be a blessing. At the time I hated it, but now I wouldn't trade that experience for anything if I had the chance, because it played such a huge role in shaping who I have become. If you'd like to talk more at length, feel free to email me at tyhollo@yahoo.com or catch me on the messanger. Hope my experiences have helped some.

Good question. I also struggle with depression and can offer some advice. I found the best way is to focus on the Holy Spirit. Romans 8 says it is the same Spirit that ressurected Jesus and that Spirit is in us. So I spend my time asking Him for the Hope and Joy that He brings to come in and lift me up like He raised Jesus. I know life gets hard and hope and pray that the Joy in our salvation comes to you in more ways than you can imagine. I hope that helps some.

Faith is never having to be depressed again.I have ever rite in the world to be depressed including clinical;but I simply refuse to participate.I pray for a better day and forget what happened 5 minutes ago. I live in the here and now.God has never let me down, including the dumps. He has always supplied my needs.Snap out of it!Become what he created you for now.Thats what it says about depression.God Loves You!!And so do I .

I don't know about depression. It does say not to worry. I had severe depression before I was saved. I battled it for a long time and even in my walk with God. I prayed for deliverance and got nothing. i finally asked why he wasn't helping me. He showed me that I was still trying to fix it on my own. I kept thinking it was in my head and I could change the way I was thinking. I had to give it to Him and say "I can't do this by my own power. I need you Lord to take this burden from me." When i did this I was delivered.

Not sure about what the Bible say specifically about depression, if anything, but, would be included in any other things we are in need of wheras we just ask in his name for the relief of depression, and, thru faith we shall receive his help.

What I do know is that God said he wants us to have a spirit of joy. And the joy He gives us is what makes us strong. That is in the Bible. ("The joy of the Lord is my strength.") I used to be depressed. There were many reasons why. Keep your faith and keep asking God to heal your pain and to give you His joy. In Jesus Name....

"bretheren count it all joy when you fall into diverse temptations"
"a merry heart does good like a medicine"
"yea though i walk THROUGH the valley of the shadow of death, i will fear no evil" (more emphasis on the word "through")
"let them shout for joy and be glad that favor my righteous cause. let them say coninually, 'let the Lord be magnified, which has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant'"

meditate on the good things. love, joy, peace, etc.
