It's not always the same god. For example, I would argue that the Mormon notion of God has nothing to do with the Christian notion of God.

Also, just because it's the same God, people can have very different and conflicting ideas about Him. I'm not sure whether Allah and God of the Bible are the same, but even if they are, Islam and Judaism/Christianity paint very different pictures of God and His character.

As for different denominations within the same religion, I can only speak to Christianity. Many denominations believe essentially the same things, but merely have different styles of worship, but believe that the other denomination is as legitimate as their own.

You dont all believe in the same god, that argument is very very weak. Read up on it and I'm sure oyu'll agree. Many religions were created (by humans) independently... you're not praising the same god..

ok... what about polythiestic religions that believe in more than one god?

Such divisions arose, the Qur'an points out, because of undue selfishness, transgression, aggression and mutual jealousy (al-Baqarah 2:213; Al 'Imran 3:19). The Qur'an also points out that these divisions arose among people when they ignored the word of Allah and His guidance and "sold Allah's words for a paltry price"(al-Baqarah 2:79), when they went to extremes (ghuluww) in their religion, when they corrupted Allah's message (tahrif), when they consigned some part of it to oblivion, or when they took one part of Allah's teachings and ignored the other. Each group divided up Allah's messages and instead of following the knowledge (al-'ilm) that was given to them by Allah's prophets, they followed their own whims and wishes (ahwa').

Thus some evil religious leaders went astray and also misled their followers (al-Baqarah 2:120, 121; al-Ma'idah 5:177; Al-An'am 6:119; al-Rum 30:29; al-Jathiyah 45:18; Muhammad 47:14, 16)

The Qur'an makes us fully aware that there are a variety of religious communities, each happy with its own version of the truth (al-Mu'minun 23:53; al-Rum 30:32). They all possess some truth which is a part of the true Islam in their midst, but regrettably none of them has preserved the message of Allah in its complete and authentic form (al-Ma'idah 5:13-14). Allah sent Prophet Muhammad to guide humanity to the original and authentic faith and the message of Allah.

There is both unity and diversity among world religions. There are many areas in which religions agree and there are also serious theological, philosophical and practical differences among them. It is not true to say that all these differences do not matter and everything eventually leads to the same end.

The answer is so simple. The problem people face is getting involved with religion in the first place.
To be a Christian, is to be reality based. Your walk with GOD is personnel. One on one. God hates religion.
Study the Word each day. Thank God continually for all the blessing He pours out on you each day.
It becomes a easy walk when its done with the LORD.

Each mind is different, and so we each have our own unique views. But like brothers usually share most of the same basic ideals, people in a region usually follow suit.

We all look at the puzzle differently, some look at the edges, others blotches of the same color or texture; people look to solve the meaning of life and the explanation for their own existence in the same kind of way.

we don't ALL praise the same God, but for those who do, they have different beliefs because people read things into it, add and remove things that they shouldn't. Read the last scripture of the Holy Bible.

People have different experiences of God. They gather around people of identical experiences and come up with a religious organization. Once it is organized then beliefs become more or less written and formalized. Then we have what you would call religion.

Take a look at the answers to your questions....this is the 3rd and you have three very different answers. No two people are exactly alike and therefore no two people have exactly the same concept of God. He is above all of us, mere humans cannot understand Him and thus we limit him to what we can understand, therefore as no two people are alike neither is the way we worship God.
