Now this isnt a question on wether or not there is a God. That I can handle. I just find hard to believe that people have an issue with God judging sinners. Like it is unheard of to be punished for wrong doing. I look at some of the answers for questions that pertain to the reality of God and see that most of them are well thought out. Wether the answer is from a Atheist, Christian, or another belief, but than you have those few people that rant on about how unfair it is for God to place judgement on someone. I just want to know why people cant except that, if God is real, there will be a day you have to account for your wrong behaviour. Can someone help me with this?

1. Of course this question is about whether or not there is a god. My answer is that it doesn't matter because there is no such thing as god. I will, however, bite.

2. The reason that I cannot accept that god will judge people when they die is for the same reason that you cannot accept that Anubis will weigh your heart against a feather when you die. Because that is clearly a myth, just like your god, it isn't real. I know, I know, you have a book that says your god is real. But the Egyptians had as much evidence as you, and you don't hesitate to say that they were wrong.

3. The "everyone is a sinner" idea is a tired one. Yes, it's true that no one is perfect, but the thought that people spend their entire lives nitpicking what defines "sin" saddens me. "Is it a sin to double park while I run into the store?" "Is it a sin to smoke?" "Is it a sin to...?" People are wasting their lives afraid to do anything because it might be "a sin." This is just more evidence for me that some faiths, most notably Christianity, need fear to thrive. Without it their entire system crumbles. This is terrible.

In short, I refuse to live my life in fear of, what is to me, your imaginary friend. I no more fear incurring the wrath of Jehovah, than you fear angering Bastet. This is the same thing.

I don't have a problem with the Christian God making a person account for their actions. What I have a problem with is that the Christian God will supposedly burn, or just separate from Him, or otherwise punish (depending on which Christian you ask) people for ETERNITY to repay a debt they racked up over a measly 70 years or so on earth.

And... all because these people didn't believe and accept His son... these people who are no worse than the people that did accept his son, but just couldn't believe based on the evidence and the way that their minds work.

Or, because these people instead believed in a different God, who was every bit as convincing as the Christian one.

I don't have a problem with punishment for what I do wrong. But eternity? That's not love. No parent would ever do that to their child.

I appreciate the question... you asked nicely, and it's a good question.

The key word in this question is "if", "If God is real, there will be a day you have to account for your wrong behavior." It's not hard to believe that God will judge people on their actions... it is however impossible to believe that he will do so fairly. Let's face facts... God has never had a good trac record for fairness. You see... Athiests and non-Christans simply choose to believe that there isn't a God because then there are no unrealistic ideals to have to live up to. If God exists then I certainly hope that when I die and get to the pearly gates he'll accept the fact that I've led a good life and let me in. If he can't accept that... then **** him and I hope HE burns in hell for eternity because he's nothing more than an unworthy, hypocrytical and ignorantly selfish bastard.

There is a day and it is judgement day and on that day you will see if your name is in the book of life or not.

We have NO idea what God's critera is.

Does it mean we have to beleive and accept Jesus? Then there is a get out of jail free card!

Will Jews or Athiests or Muslims be listed?

Only God knows!

Do you do things for rewards?

Do you live a good life ONLY to get into the book and will it bug you if you give up things because you thought they were wrong and still you are NOT in that book?!

I don't do things to get into a book or find a place somewhere.

I do things because I believe they are the right things to do.

If I am wrong, so be it.

Thats kind of a moot question isn't it?

First, you have to believe...if you don't then anything having to do with faith is irrelevant.

Thats like asking a Christian: why is it hard to believe that if you blow yourself up for Allah you'll receive 72 virgins in heaven?

I hope that helps you...

One has to accept that the prime factor is truth before corollarys follow.
Better questions to ask are: Why do some Christians think they can lead a sinful life and be absolved by prayer, rather than lead a pure life first.
or
Why do some Christians question the faith of others, when faith alone is what gives people strength...doesn't the bible consider that questioning of another's faith sinful?
or
Why do some Christians proselytize and then gossip about the doubtful, isn't that a sin?

Your question is not on the right path. An atheist doesnt believe in god.

Your god is not punishing and he is not going to punish (Because there is no such thing as god).

The following are the proofs:

1. Non-vegetarian are killing living beings, which is an ultimate sin. But, non-vegetarians are not punished yet.
2. Spreading the religion through bribery is a sin. But, missionaries are not punished yet.
3. War is a crime. But, no one is punished yet.
4. Following racism is a sin. But, no one is punished yet.
5. Their are millions of people who lives in poverty, no one is punished for their state.

And the list can be exhaustive.

So, my dear friend...there is no god...and no one is going to be punished for their sin and no one is going to go to heaven for their good-things. This is the ultimate truth.

Everyone should live their life, without giving troubles to others. Everyone should develop universal brother-hood, so that, we all can live happily.

In the Bible see the book of Ephesians Chapter 2 verse 8-9. It starts- "By GRACE are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God: NOT of works...... The familiar John 3:16 and v 17 &18 tell about the same thing. You might want to talk to a major denominational pastor, vicar, chaplain for further explination.

An athiest by definition does not believe that God exists. All other religions have a similar belief that thier God or Gods will judge them.
Some believe that there is death and rebirth until the person gets if right with God.

Of course I find it preposterous that "God" should judge people on their actions. How could anyone with such an abysmal track record have the temerity to judge anyone else.

If god is the creator of everything, and See's all, knows all, and controls all, then he created all the wars, Pol pot, Adolph Hitler, the Tsunamis, and every other tragedy the world has ever experienced. How can someone responsible for all of that, judge anyone else?

If I'm a atheist I don't believe in God and there's nothing more to say. Peoples are the only ones that can judge another peoples.
Did you ever seen an animal that judge another one?
