Islam uplifted the status of women and granted them their just rights 1400 years ago. Islam expects women to maintain their status.

Hijaab for men

People usually only discuss ‘hijaab’ in the context of women. However, in the Glorious Qur’an, Allah (swt) first mentions ‘hijaab’ for men before ‘hijaab’ for the women. The Qur’an mentions in Surah Noor:

"Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do."
[Al-Qur’an 24:30]

The moment a man looks at a woman and if any brazen or unashamed thought comes

No dear, the Islamic faith is actually degrading its menfolk - as a bunch of oversexed maniacs, who are bound to go beserk at the mere sight of any woman.
...That is the only actual reason why women of the Islamic countries are forewarned [in the bluntest terms !] to totally avoid being exposed in any way to these lunatics - to safeguard themselves from being molested by all and sundry !
...The Al-Qur'an actually has such a LOW opinion of its male followers !

First of all, you presume that this action degrades women. This may be your viewpoint from a Western perspective, but to insist it as absolute truth is rather arrogant.

Second, Islam doesn't make women wear anything. it says both men and women should dress modesty. Culture determines what is "modest." In Afghanistan, modest means a burka. In Turkey, that frequently means Western styles clothes. Many Afghan women wear the burka because they feel it protects them. Their land is so lawless, and they feel that women who expose skin are much more likely to entice men into committing rape.

Islam brought a lot of rights to women that they didn't have in the Middle East before Islam. For instance, they have the right to divorce their husband, and a husband can only have four wives that he has to continue caring for all of them equally. Previously, the culture accepted that men could pretty much marry whoever they wanted when they wanted, and older wives were frequently left in destitution, unable to even find another husband to care fo them because they had never officially been divorced.

I don't see any mention of veils in the Mathew verses you cite. In Corinthians Paul does warn women to keep themselves veiled in church, but this likely was because it reflected Roman culture at the time. An unveiled woman was shameful in Roman culture, and Christian women kept casting off their veils in church, which made them look very immoral to the Romans!

Welllll.. Not being religious or even having been at all in this situatio, I was told that the physical beauty of a woman was too precious to be seen by anyone else but her husband and close female relatives. Which is fine. At least they dont get whistled by road workers or builders on scafoldings when they pass by. Thats so rude and annoying!!
It makes it more special when she unveil herself. No I do not find that degrading, I find that very respectful.

Simple answer is god hates women.
He created men first. It's apparent that god doesn't like woman. WE are supposed to obey our men. WE are supposed to cover our heads. WE are supposed to not be loud or independent.
(Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NAB) If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.
So even a woman who is raped in the bible must marry the creep. WE are considered nothing but property in the bible. WE must suffer the pain of child birth as punishment for Eve while men get what punishment?

I have personally have never met a single Muslim woman who said vail makes her feel degraded.
It's always someone who doesn't dress like another calls other "degraded" and "immodest"

The question should be simple instead of giving Quranic or Biblical references that "how many women who were dressed as modest were rapped in USA in the past few weeks and how many women who were dressed as degraded were rapped in past few weeks" becuase as we all know in USA, a rape takes place in every 12 minutes.

No one can prove that Islam degrades the women but actually will hand Muslims a whip to beat his/her faith.
Name your faith and then prove it to me that Islam degrades women.

Islam degrades women because the "Glorious Qur’an" was written by an egotistic man. So with all the other religious books, they were written by mere men. I could write one too and say God inspired me. Who are you to say I'm not legit?

to make it short and sweet:so they don't turn into whores like the rest of the world or like the christians who sleep with anything with a penis and then later "ask" God for forgiveness. Plus if it makes one less person not be practically naked in short shorts and a bikini, hooray for the koran! Just get your extremist brethrens to stop killing off people. Scratch that. Can we get them to patrol our borders and control the flow of immigration?

I dont think modesty is bad. In fact I encourage it. However I don't like how Muslim women and young girls are abused and raped.
