I have known this girl for about 6 months. we dated once but it ended on bad terms. 2 months later we became friends and started seeing each other again. She has a sketchy past and i am not sure i trust her. however she hasnt really had a good boyfriend and i have been good to her. she may be moving back home to california soon and things have been good. most of my friends dont seem to approve of her but dont hate her either. it was just sex but she confessed having very strong feelings for me and i was the the main reason she is considering staying. She told me she loved me 2 nights ago and told me why i deserve a great girl even if its not her. she calls me every day and we spend as much time together as possible. Am i kidding myself with this or is it possible she could change her ways and be the girl i have been wanting? any experience with someone like this?

She will only change if SHE wants to change, not anybody else. Here is the thing, love is blind and even though you want to be with her, there is probably a few good reasons your friends don't trust her. If you think they are being overly dramatic about it, talk to them. But most of the time, other people see things about bfs/gfs that the other does not. Let her get her act together before you get with her on serious terms. Don't be the one to try to change or help. She needs to do it on her own and she will be a better person for it in the long run.

It's possible she could change, but most people don't change in a matter of a few months. I wouldn't get my hopes up. Wait and see-- if she does stick around because of you, that may be a good sign.
