When a person believes that they are born gay do u feel that its true? Do u feel that it's a genetic thing? Or, if you decide to be that way on your own? I have a friend who just came out of the closet to everyone. Now the majority of his friends say it’s about time. They knew he was. I say I never knew that. I mean he had his little female tendencies and stuff but I never thought of him like that.

human beings have both male and female tendencies within them. The female has estrogen which makes her more female, and the male has testosterone which makes him more male.

Sometimes people are hesitant to come out of the closet because they are really unsure of which way they think they should go, rather than which way they are. And, because if they do determine to be as their body suggests then it is only up to them to make that decision and they really needn't proclaim it to the world, it's their choice and their choice alone. But once they have proclaimed it, there is still discrimination in the world and they might suffer consequences from non-understanding people, and there is real fear in that.

There are statistics on the web, by doctors, who for as long as people have lived have known that nature makes mistakes. And the doctors solve those mistakes "immediately after" the child is born. So the child may find that what was solved at the time so they would have an easier childhood and cope with life when they were young, then becomes difficult for them to live with when they get older, or get of marriage age. So they want to make the change so they can feel right about themselves.

Some find later that they made a mistake and chose wrong and want to revert back or reverse their words and it's difficult for everyone, them mostly. My suggestion is they should see their doctor and get the testosterone levels checked to help ease their mind.

I'm a little fuzzy about that but I do believe it can be either way, some people are born that way and then I do believe sometimes people experiment when the oppisite sex has given them a really hard time over and over again and they experiment with the oppisite sex and like it.I have a male friend who is gay and he said that he knew since he was born he was in denial for a long time and told me about three yrs ago but I already knew.He never had a girlfriend and always found my male friends attractive but he would say I'm not gay or nothing but he's a nice looking young man that's he would put it.

there is no such thing as a gay gene. sexual preference is a learned behavior. Being born gay is the same as being born a racist. Its crazy. A little kid who like non traditional gender activities like a boy playing with dolls and I don't mean gi Joe. he develops a friendship with girls and ultimately a sexual attraction to what is perceived to be different or males. I do believe people who say they couldn't help being gay but I will never believe in a million years that sexual preference is controlled by genetics it is a ludicrous thing to say

If there is a fat gene I imagine the is a gay gene as well. Probably dealing with testosterone and estrogen levels in the body, a higher than average level of estrogen in males and a higher than average testosterone level for females.

My daughter in law says she always knew she was. My daughter didn't know until she was in high school and my husband knew when he was about 12. I have had students in my fifth grade class who were clearly gay and this has proven to be true when I have met them as adults. but I did have some kids who turned out to be gay when it wasn't apparent to me in class. so - who knows???

No. The argument of "why would anyone set themselves up for ridicule" is ridiculous in itself. Why do drug addicts set themselves up for THAT life. Why do child molesters set themselves up for THAT life. Its all about choices or EVERYTHING would be condonable.
