Right then..............cheapest season (flights wise) will be Feb - end of March & Oct - mid Nov.
Emirates & Sri Lanka great airlines but pricey - about £450-550 rtn Heathrow. Etihad and Qatar Airlines good too and much cheaper - £300-450
Check this website out - www.reddottours.com They are Sri Lankan tour specailists and superb. Their website will show you all the major hotels and great pictures.
Unless you have your heart set on Kalutara, Hikkaduwa just down the coast is better. Galle, further down, has one of the best beaches/bay in the country called Unawatuna. A good hotel in Kaluthara is the Royal Palms Beach Hotel.
Also, if you get a triple room, it will be much cheaper splitting the cost.
Don't forgetting to do a eco-friendly evening trek to a near by turtle hatchery and release baby turtles back to the sea - magical experience !

Depends where you r from. from great britain, Qatar airways and Emirates give good deals. Good hotels are from Aitken Spence hotels and Jetwing hotels (both chains)...pretty expensive though. You could google them n see. There are small lodges for tourists in Kalutara...for which you HAVE to go there n check them out.

hey check 3D Tours and Travels..ring em on 0870 429 8365..they have quite cheap flights to sri lanka and india..can do packages as well...

emirates fly from birmingham to colombo
i flew to singapore alst year and had to stop at colombo
was about £400 to singapore so im guessing itll be cheaper
try airline network for the cheapest deals
ps colombo airport is a **** hole
