I'd appreciate input from hairdressers on this one as well! Thanks!

Look for people who have hair similar to your's (length, texture, curl, etc.) Ask them who does their hair. Most people will be flattered. Don't do anything radical with your hair on your first visit with a new hairdresser and wear your hair the way you normally would so the hairdresser knows what kind of results you're looking for. You want a hairdresser who will sit and do a consultations before you're shampood. Make sure they listen to you and communicate during your haircut.

ask around! im sure u'll see some hot lookin places in ur new city or town just go in there and have a look see its not like they can curse u out or nething... ask people u know or even people u dont know i do it all the time. look for someone that u know has a good sense of style that way they know what hair colors to use with ur skin tone and stuff and maybe a lil more on what hair cut is in and goes with ur face. of course go to someone who is professional and has a beauty lisence!

Once you move, do some walk ins, or make a couple of appointments just for consults. talk to them about what you want and what they do and see if you can find someone. Or ask around for referrals from people you know or work with in your new town. Also, if you see someone there with a great haircut, don't be afraid to stop them and ask them who cuts their hair!

Get your hair done before you move. That will give you a couple months to find someone good. Ask your new friends in the new area. You will be able to tell who is going to the good salons by looking at thier hair.

I don't know about other people, but I don't let straight people touch my hair. They're just going to screw it up if they do.
