how at89c51 can support serial peripheral interface(spi)?

at89c51 micro-controller supports asynchronous serial communication. max6952(led display driver) supports spi and I2C interfaces. how can i interface these two??? Can I use a display driver other than max6952? I want to make display pannel

check this website, it has C and assembly routines for doing SPI. Or you can write your own routines like I did.
