stretched too thin and are new recruits not joining the military as fast as needed? Could the U.S. maintain steady military action if it were to aid Israel without reinstating the draft?

At the moment we are not.

And the military has meet their recruiting goals for this year - and more importantly we have exceeded our re-enlistment goals.

And BTW - Israel does not need any help.

Michael is correct. The Navy and Air Force are actually down sizing and the Army has met it's recruiting goals for several months now. Not sure about the Marine Corps.

Even though our top military leaders are downsizing it is just because of the rediculous spending however, everyone in the military and even congress actually agrees we are spread too thin. We are probably downsizing because we are spending all our defense budget on black projects like the UFOs at area 51. Evidentally, if some sh*t goes down our top military leaders are confident that whatever weaponry we have at area 51 will take care of it.

I think that the military is stretched wa too thin. We have too many obligations of occupation and not enough people left to defend our interests without pulling them from some other conflict.

Yes, I think the draft is coming back. There has to be a way to supplement the volunteer army. The army cannot recruit enough people anymore. The current cimcumstances would virtually guarantee being sent to an active combat conflict.

The Military is down-sizing in the Air Force. Recruiting goals have been met and have even exceeded expectation. The Government however has decided that we have too many people serving. In the AF alone, we are encouraging people to get out of the AF and switch to the Army. As a new Lieutenant, there is a pretty good chance that you will no longer have a job in the AF, they keep getting laid off, as it were.

I would say yes the military is stretched to thin and we could not get into another conflict without instateing a draft. Maybe a small skirmish but not a full scale war.
