When you were an Atheist, how did you feel about God coming from no where or making himself which violates Christians argument?
Did you convert back to Christianity because you found evidence that God exist?
When you were an Atheist and someone said, "I'll pray for you" how did that make you feel?
IT TAKES AN ATHEIST TO KNOW AN ATHEIST
TO TRUE ATHEIST, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THEIR ANSWERS?

TO MR. KNOW IT ALL, Growing up means you stop believing in talking animals,(which is in the bible)
Growing up means you question what your parents have taught you which you obviously haven't done

I read your previous questions and now have one for you! If you do not believe in God
why are you trying so hard to prove he does not exist??? If you do not believe in him, why do you dwell on him and his followers??? Post like this just feed believers. You are the exact type of person who makes believers believe even more and pray for you at the same time.
I don't believe in the Easter Bunny so I don't think about him all of the time. Sounds like you think about God all of the time....you must believe in him!

Regarding the question about God making Himself.... There is no single theory that successfully explains the creation of the universe. Not the theory of God, or the Big Bang Theory, or anything. So you'd really have to ask all people how they feel about the theory they believe in (whichever theory that is) not fully answering the question of initial creation, since none of them do.
Regarding the second question, there has never been physical evidence that God exists, nor that any other explanation of our initial creation exists. There are only rational arguments--mental explanations--that some people find comfort in. Such as William Paley's pocket watch argument: If you were walking through a forest and saw a beautiful, functional pocket watch sitting on a stump, would you assume that each individual part of that watch fell from the sky and landed miraculously in just the right way and order so that they happened to form a functional pocket watch? (the Big Bang Theory), or would you assume that someone made that watch and set it there on the stump? (the theory of God). Because it is impossible to prove that God created the universe without us actually going back in time and witnessing it, and likewise is impossible to prove the Big Bang Theory without visually witnessing it, we have no other choice but make rational explanations of such events, and to have faith that the most logical explanation is the one that happened. There is no evidence - just faith. As an Atheist, what rational explanation of our existence do you have faith in? Just curious....there must be something that makes sense to you.
Regarding the third question, if I were an Atheist and someone said they would pray for me, I would not comprehend exactly what they were talking about, because I would not truly comprehend what prayer was, would I?
Regarding it taking an Atheist to know an Atheist, I would initially be inclined to agree with you. At first, it makes logical sense because I would agree that it takes a person being raped to truly understand what it is like to be raped (and what an unfortunate feeling that is). However, I do not have to be a rapist to know a rapist. That is, as a victim of rape, I know that the person who raped me is a rapist. I do not have to be rapist to know that. And what you most likely meant is that it takes a rapist to know the MIND of a rapist, but that might not be true either, because one rapist might have a completely different mind, reality, rationale, and purpose for raping than another rapist does. You can never truly know anyone.
I hope that helps your quest for knowledge by adding some additional perspectives. :) Good luck.

What I think of their answers is that they are the usual typical drivel, except for santosh s's ridiculous observation that atheists do not believe in god's law or man's law, and have sex with animals.
Just because a person doesn't acknowledge the existence of god doesn't mean that they don't follow civil law, and certainly does not mean that they practice bestiality.
As for how I feel when they say 'I'll pray for you', I always answer 'Thank you, and I'll make an offering to the goddess for you'. I don't really believe in any goddess, as I'm an atheist, but the look on their faces is priceless!

I don't know that I was an atheist. I was an agnostic (as the term is commonly used).
I used to think when someone said "I'll pray for you" that it would be nice for someone to spend time dedicated to what they thought was my good....even though it was a waste of their time and was not my goal.
Because I understood Christian doctrine, I did not have a problem with God coming from no where or making himself. This implies a linear causality which does not exist outside of our Universe. In Christian theology, God is. (Kind of like a big bang singularity.)
I came back to Christianity because I had an encounter with God which he iniated. I didn't ask for it. Wasn't looking for it. But it happened.

I am neither an atheist nor a christian, but I can answer your questions:
#1 That's just not possible.
#2 An atheist would say No; a christian would say Yes. How does this prove your point? Does "evidence" have to be tangible? or does circumstantial count?
#3 This is the polite way of saying f*** off.
Good luck!

Never was a believer. Grew up being an Agnostic, now a firm atheist as I'm a logical-minded person. There is no proof of any god (PERIOD). I don't care if people pray for me, let them if it makes them happy. Just don't tell me when I'm sick as it has been proven to negatively influence the healing process.

I grew up with parents that said there was a God, but they didn't go to church, pray or do anything christian. I questioned the whole christian beliefs. I felt the same way you do in the questions you have asked.
There came a time in my life when my family and friends let me down. They did try to help so don't get me wrong. They are still my very best friends and family. I couldn't understand why my life was going downward. I tried everything to try to get my life back on track. Everything failed. Doctors, medication, counciling. I really did want to get better. One of my friends who was a christian, (he never did preach to me), invited me to church. I didn't want to go, but I thought I would humor him. I tried to go with him 2 times before I finally went. The first time I tried, the whole exhaust system fell off my car. The second time i tried, I was within a mile of the church when i had a tire blow out. This was about enough to make me not even try to go. I got up the third week and I made it. I was expecting nothing. The people were very friendly which surprised me. We sat down and they played a few songs. Then the preacher got in the pulpit. He didn't preach like I have seen on TV and heard about. He got up there and just started talking. He didn't quote a scripture, he just talked about the junk I was going through in my life. Every bit of it. He never looked at me but it was like he was talking to me. He talked like he was one of my best friends trying to help me out. I was crying my eyes out. He did talk about Jesus and all that stuff. It is a church. But something I could not explain swept over me. Something real, I could feel it. I knew it had to have been the Holy Spirit. He had a message for me that day. that is why it took me 3 times to make it to church. Ever since I learned to trust God with the situations nobody could help me with, it has been a weight lifted off my chest. Sometimes He will let us hit rock bottom if ti is the only way to get our attention.

In answer to your question... I was taught that Theists were not-very-intelligent people of weak character who need a crutch to emotionally support themselves... and that faith is blind faith without any evidence etc...
See link below for more info -- (I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ -- e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
In response to your question regarding evidence for God.. please be aware that there is scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm)
Cordially,
John
