The reason, I placed this qn under this category is, I would like to know how "religious" folks feel about it....

Both sides are wrong. Bombs and missiles are not solutions. They contribute to the problem.

In the United States, a kidnapping is a legal matter. Never once have I seen missiles and bombs used to end a kidnapping. I think they may be using excessive force.

Hamas and Hezb need to stop with the crap. They really are like poorly behaved children... or children who have not been taught to behave.

Both sides need to take a step back, identify the things they agree on, work on negotiating the things they don't agree on, and work for peace. The world wants peace in the middle east. We all suffer when these people can't figure out how to get along.

Bombs do not bring peace. Peace is the result of humans being reasonable and wanting what is best for HUMANITY. More importantly peace is the result of governments making decisions that are for the best of the people they represent. War is not good for ANY population. War is only good for the people who are invested in companies that profit from war.

Stop the madness. The people of earth want peace. The governments go against the will of the people when they wage war.

I thought when the United States invaded Iraq WWW III had started. However, I now know that historical event was a hallmark to the current escalation of violence.
Examine the SCOPE of muslim radical fundamentalism (the name does not deserve to capitalized). These terrorists are imbedded in every country around the globe, especially in Europe, with the belief of conversion or death to all. When formulating your own opinion about your question, keep in mind the recent reaction to terrorism by France and Spain in contrast to the reaction by the United States of America and Israel. Why are Russia and China content on supporting ineffective United Nation resolutions and bogus negotiations with rogue terrorist factions/states?
One must also take into consideration the Geographical locations of these countries involved in the current conflict and ask the question, "How would this situation be different if the United States did not have troops in Iraq?" Israel would be facing threats from Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Turkey.
There are many clowns in the media who put their own spin on issues and feed it to the public by misreporting, omitting facts, or adding personal responses to the news to influence opinions in order to “change the world.” Filter these charlatans with the question, “What does nuclear proliferation mean the 2006?” I challenge you to research the true COMPLETE HISTORY of conflict between the Muslims and Israelis, the rise and fall of Hitler and fascism in WWII, and Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War”. Then answer your own question. The Muslim religion is not a religion of peace, neither is Christianity or Judaism. History is repeating itself.

War is never good..in this current conflict though, not to be biased..but I think Israel has just about had enough bullying from its neighbors. Incidently..this is a biggie in Bible prophecy...when Israel is surrounded on all sides but enemies as far as the eye can see. When a governmental body has an infantry 200 million strong (China), there will be famine (sub-Saharan Africa), pestilance (world wide), 1/3 of the earths animals and greenage is destroyed, earth quakes in various places, wars, rumors of wars, the love of most will grow cold as people seek after material gain, etc. etc. So...what does all this mean...Uh...well, keep your eye on Israel...and crack open your Bible once and a bit. Have you recieved Christ as your Savior? Yeah..ya might want to do that...He gave His life for you so when all the fits hit the shan..you won't be here to hafta deal with all of it. Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

Good question. This is not a bad place for it if you ask me.

I think that Israel is going to occupy Lebanon as soon as the Americans evacuate their people. And do an Isaiah 17:1 on Damascus. I support Israel because they are our friends who don't blow us up in cafes and destroy our buildings with airplanes. Plus it is the Holyland and all. You know, where Jesus will return and finish the job! lol

Actually, I support both Israel and Lebanon. It is clear that it is not Lebanon that Israel is after. It is the terrorist organization known as Hezbollah. This conflict is really designed by Syria and Iran to destabilize the fledgling democracy in Lebanon.

Remember, Syria was booted out of Lebanon in the past few years, and was humiliated worldwide. They haven't forgotten. Iran is involved because they have historically used Hezbollah as their tool to attack Israel periodically.

Plus, with the G-8 summit in Russia going on, Iran is able to distract the G-8 from issuing ultimatums to order Iran from continuing its nuclear program.

It is a war born of ancient hate. Muslims take over Jerusalem. Catholics murder Muslims and take Jerusalem. Muslims murder Cathlolics and retake Jerusalem. Nazis murder 6 million Jews. Jewish terrorists start blowing crap up in Israel to get their way. The UN drives hundreds of thousands of homesteaders out of their homes with literally nothing but the clothes on their back, totally ruining their lives, and gives the land to the Jews. The Arabs and Palestinians now start a war of terror on the Jews. The Jews imprison, abuse, and murder Arabic and Palestinian civilians. And, here we are today. I support neither side, I only feel sorry for those caught in the middle. As for those who want to exercise their hate, let them all burn!

Ok, first off I am Christian (Baptist). I dont think religion has much to do with the way we feel. we are who we are. for example, I like Pepsi, more then I should, and no matter what any one says, I still love my Pepsi.
It's the same with religion, it is only a choice we make based on what we beleive.

Now to your question;
they are both seriously wrong.
I back Isreal more, however they both are wrong.

Lets say Isreal takes 100 people from Lebanon, then Lebanon takes two from Isreal, and Isreal says free them, so Lebenon, says ok, I will give you one for 50 and the other person for our other 50 people, then Isreal says F-U and tosses a bomb......

childs play !!! I kid you not, it sounds just like the way my children play.

Hi jonty!
I support peace and the innocent people who are displaced. The thirst for other man's land and expansion of power will not end till some powerful support is there for those who actually consider such an evil act as prestige.

I support Israel because Hezbollah started this whole thing. They launched rockets into Israel, killed six Israeli soldiers, and then kidnapped two more. Lebanon makes no effort to control Hezbollah even though they have had six years to do so. So I support Israel. They have a right to defend themselves.
