He works at this sandwich shop I go to and he never pays any attention to me but he is really good looking. I did some research and found out he is an adult so it wouldn't be illegal for me to date him. All the other guys in the shop stare at me and make conversation when I come in, but he doesn't even look up other than to take my order. I think he might be shy and possibly not into me.
How should I approach this guy to at least let him know I'm interested. I don't speak to him. I just stare at him like a retard the whole time I'm there. Should I slide him my number or just start by making conversation or what?
Please help. Thanks.
P.S. I can do without the remarks that I'm too old. We are both legal.

Simply start some conversation with him. He may be interested in you, but shy, and intimidated by you, thinking that he has no chance of being with you.
Also, he may be prohibited by his job from engaging in conversation with customers, so you may need to quickly and discreetly let him know you are interested in him and invite him to talk to you while he is not working.
